Uninstalling Issues - programs don't appear in the 'Remove Programs'

I don't recall when it started happening. But alsmot 90% of the apps I've installed do not show up in the 'Remove Programs' from the PPC 6700.

Although I can use the ActiveSync for uninstalling but it's a pain to use it everytime I want to uninstall something from the phone.

Is there any solution (other than hard resetting ?)

WM5 does not seems to be very robust with the native remove programs function. I have literally had to extract bits and pieces from all over the handset including the registry several times after trying to remove software. SunnySoft Backup still shows up in my control panel after repeated attempts to extract all of it from the file system and registry.

You might try SKTools for it's removal subroutine.

Or, you might just HR and rebuild. IF you load a backup file, you're back to square one.

Good Luck,

Bob Duckworth

Having the same exact problem. Don't know when it started, but I have about 6 programs that are hidden from the remove programs box. Just installed SKtools and surprisingly it saw all of those programs and was able to gracefully uninstall them. But it doesn't see the /other/ programs on the system so I'm not sure if thats by design or a bug. Anyways, doesn't matter much, it did the job.

I had WM5 optimization turned on the previous install of PhoneAlarm. But the latest version I installed does not have it turned on at all.

So, am I doomed to HR ? Or is there a way to fix it via regedit or something ?

I would have to agree. PhoneAlarm has given me most headaches of all the PocketPC apps.

I like it's feature of showing me the voice mails / missed calls on the screen. But that's all I need. Anyways....

Does anyone know of any other lightweight application which would just show me missed calls / voice mails / sms'es ? I remember seeing a freeware somewhere but can't remember where I saw it
