"Failed to initialize camera. 36001:100:1" Help!

Suddenly the camera won't start, and I get this error message. What happened? I have been adding programs and running simple hacks as suggested all over this forum, but I can't figure out which one might have done this.

Programs I'm using:

VoiceCommand
cLaunch
NetFront (added around the same time this started happening)
rlCalendar
MortSaver
TCPMP
Magic Button
PHM RegEdit

Please advise! Thanks.

The same thing just started today. It was fine a few days ago. Have done nothing to the device. It is an XV6700 fromVerizon Wireless. I've tried everything *except* a hard-reset. I refuse to hard reset the thing.

Have you found a solution yet?

Nope. I just don't have a camera anymore. I would hard reset, but I still can't manage to sync my contacts with any computer. I'm not against hard-resetting in principle, but I am against paying money for a third party backup program.

I don't know what the hell I'm going to do.

Okay, so I finally gave up and did a hard rest to fix this problem. And it didn't work. The first thing I did after the hard reset was to start the camera, and I got the exact same error message.

Now to go back through and try to restore five months of hacks and tweaks and customizations. Sigh.

Please help me fix my camera!

I'll help you. Go to "Start", then "Programs". Open up Word Mobile, then type in "My phone needs to be returned".

Sorry man, it sounds like you've got a hardware problem. If after a hard reset, your camera is still not working, it looks like it's time to get that phone replaced.

Crap. You're right. I guess I'll call Sprint on Monday. Anyone have any advice for dealing with this kind of thing?

I got my 6700 replaced!

Called Sprint, they had me download the new ROM, hard reset, nothing helped the camera problem. I took it in to a Sprint Store this morning. They did another hard reset to confirm, then gave me a new 6700 out of the box for no charge.

No problem.
