If yours is an all-silver one that says 'Sprint < ' (the < is a yellow fan like logo). And also, if you mean only the letters of the all-silver keyboard, light up blue when a key is pressed -
I have seen both versions and the white is a hell of a lot better. you can actually see all the symbols and numbers on the keyboard. With the Blue one that i got you can only see the letters and there is no way you are ever going to be able to read the symbols and numbers in the dark. The Blue LED just don't light them up correctly.
I am really surprised they changed the color or even let this phone be rolled out for sale with these blue LED's that you can't make out any symbols.
I wish i knew a way to change out my version for the white LED version cuase i would do it in a heartbeat.
I had the older version with white lights. Since I was still within the 14 period, I requested they send me one with the yellow logo (and blue lights). I got the phone, played with it for a day (without doing an ESN swap), and returned it the next day.
The blue light sounds good, but it is definitely not as good as it sounds. I prefer the white lights much better. As others have said, you can see all the symbols and numbers.
Anyone notice any other differences on the units?
Are the button pressing the same?
My newer version feels stiff, and slider slides tight .
Ive herd the joystick sticks out more on this new one Correct?
Howabout the screens?
I have no experience with the older white version, but the screen display color saturation looks juicy on this one.
Does older version have same focus lens on back?
I will be checking if they did any hacks because my volume is not low.
In getting a second one with the new logo I felt there was a difference but did not notice it. I agree though the blue light makes it a bit darker. I wonder if there is a hack to change it back to white?
It actually has different colored LEDs in it, so there's not going to be any way you can hack it (short of disassembling it to resolder different LEDs, which I'm sure would be incredibly difficult).

Do you know that for certain? There are multi-color LEDs available. There are at least 2 on this phone.

not much difference
the keyboard clicks louder on the new one
all new phones feel stiff itll loosen up with time
yes the joystick is a little larger.. really its just the rubber part sticking out
I heard the slider was a little different. I cannot confirm this though, when I had the blue backlight one I didnt know there was another version so I never took note of those things. Wish I had now though.
