Well, that's quite a list of software. This is just like the WM2003 days, to find the root cause of this issue, You are going to have to do some work. Starting with a hard reset, add software, one package at a time and test functionality. Not fun, but time proven solution.

What is PC Cillin? An anti-virus scanner? If so start with that and see if it's set up to scan incoming mail/text messages. IF so, is it on your SD card? That could be the problem right there.

Good Luck,

Bob Duckworth

I have this same problem. It only freezes when receiving a text message. I get so many that sometimes I'll wake up to it frozen and vibrating since I set it to vibrate on text messages. I have the following software:
PHM Registry Editor
Total Commander
Check Notifications

That's about it I guess..

Oh yeah, I forgot to add that I do have lots of reg hacks done.
-Glyphcache
-Color hack (for today font and start bar)
-Text Message auto lookup
-IE Page Scrolling
-Turned off flight mode, so end button wouldn't turn off phone
-'Disconnect' button on the bubble for internet connection
-some other memory cache hack
-Keyboard light stay on longer
-Disable menu animation
-(not a reg hack) changed Slot Cycle index in ##778# to '0' so it responds quicker to incoming calls.

Oh and I forgot I have Macromedia Flash installed also.

Also, btw, before I even did the reg hacks or the Total Commander, I was having this trouble. I think this was happening even before I added any programs to it...

I really wish we could figure out what cause this because it's so annoying. It happens about once a day for me. I didn't mod mine at all for about the first week and it was really bad then.

Can you edit your post and let us know where the each of these programs are installed? Main Memory, EXTROM, or Storage Card? That may help.

I am having the same problem with my phone... It is locking up avery few days and I have to do a soft reset.. The only thing I have installed on mine is voice command, phm reg edit, and phone alarm. I have been leaning toward the phone alarm software causing it but it doesn't look like it is a common app.. Maybe phm reg editor????
Keep everyone posted!!

I haven't even installed PHM Reg editor. I just run it straight off the card when I use it.

This is the "DSOD". Look it up for discussion in other threads. It's not related much to any specific software. The problem seems to be twofold, both a problem with the default sync schedule with Activesync and an apparent bug with the storage card drivers. It's most likely going to take a rom update to solve the problem completely even though most have almost completely eliminated the problem through the various posted hacks.
