I combed the forums looking for any sign of this, and everyone seems to be discussing the BT version of the keyboard, so...
Has anyone had any success using the IR Stowaway with their 6700? It worked really well with my 6600, but I tried installing it right away with the new phone, and got some serious errors. Hard reset, decided to wait, and kept checking Think Outside's site. I saw nothing for a while, and now some BT updates for drivers, but no word on the IR.
Seeing as how the 6700 has a nice IR port right on the side, and I don't feel like chucking this perfectly fine keyboard, anyone have any advice or know something I don't?
Oh. And Think Outside's forums are ridiculous. The moderator doesn't seem to give a crap about answering the question posed in any sort of way (I'd even take a vague, nebulous response over nothing).
Does the keyboard come with software for ppc? Because you could just add it to the list of apps that don't work with wm5. You might want to email the Think Outside folks and ask them if it's compatable with the 6700.
I just thought that very thing (adding it to the list of apps not working)... As far as emailing Think Outside is concerned, they already "addressed" the issue... by posting a driver update... for bluetooth. And quietly ignoring the IR issue.
And originally, the driver disc was for PPC and Palm.
Apparently Think Outside has included WM5 support for all other products within the BT driver package. I downloaded it and installed it and upon a soft reset was asked which of 5 devices I wished to set up.
Curiously not mentioned in any documentation, though, this support...
Perhaps hoping we'd all run out and buy a BT keyboard without question?
I have seen those keyboards. They look amazing, and I considered buying one when I had my PPC-6600. The thing that stopped me was mostly its price, but also because I read a review that said something to the effect of "while it's a great, interesting, revolutionary product, it still has a long way to go". It detailed some interface problems and recognition issues. A few too many things to pony up that much money for.
But they look so awesome. Like something out of Tron or Blade Runner...
