there is one way you can watch tv on your 6700...place it on the sofa cushion sit down...use the remote to turn on the tv
There is a BETTER solution, orb works AWESOME on these units even when not on EVDO, BUT you need a compatible TV tuner, will run you around $120 or so for an external USB 2.0 tuner and you have to leave your computer on all the time (and have a broadband connection at home) but it works GREAT and you get any cable channels that you get at home. Check it out at www.orb.com. Best of all it's FREE!

Try pocket Streamer Pro or Deluxe. You get a set of TV channels as well as music. There is a selection of channels around the world. The US selection is different from MobiTV probably because he has no braodcaster agreements, just a guess. Still for those waiting for MobiTV this will quench the thirst. You can buy it on Handango. I picked it up over the weekend.
SprintTV does not work with the 6700. Either use ORB or wait for the Slingbox Pocket PC player (search in the forum for more info). If you were suckered into getting the $25 data plan, you should call Sprint and change it to the $15 plan as the additional features in the $25 plan doesn't work with our phones.
You can get SmartVideo which has more clips than MobiTV but has live TV for MSNBC, Court TV, ABC news Live for example. Google SmartVideo and you should find the link.
FYI - MobiTV is branded as Sprint TV unless you purchase MobiTV. I believe there are a few channel differences between the two.
i called sprint about that and i told her that my phone is incapable of using SprinTtv, but she kept arguing and finally said i'll give u SprintTv for free for a month.. i just didn't know what to say anymore

Call back and ask for a superviser?

After speaking with a Sprint Advanced Tech Support rep, I confirmed my suspicion why this phone does not support SprintTV, and why it will most likely never support it. Simply put, SprintTV needs a J2ME enabled phone to run (Mobile Java for those not into acronyms).
Since this is a Windows Smartphone, do not expect Microsoft to license and develop J2ME for this phone anytime soon. You might pester UTC Starcomm since Sun does not offer a J2ME install and leaves it to device manufacturers or the OS builder to license and develop for the devices.
Best advice, if enough customers complain, maybe they'll do something about it. Until then, your sol.
I asked MobiTV and while they won't confirm or deny whether it will ever happen they do say they are working on it. So MobiTV better known as SprintTV may someday make its way to mobile 5 phones. Even if the 6700 blows away the competition it is phones like the treo700w that can move markets and force companies to do cross platform development . I don't believe for a second this is not being worked on.
SmartVideo is just a competitor of MobiTV. They take advantage of Microsoft Windows media player. Unlike MobiTV that developed their own media player, SmartVideo having agreements with media companies just had to convert the data stream for Media Player without the pain of developing the player. The bad news is they are slightly more expensive but this works.
Am I missing something? It looks to me like you could just install a java emulator (IBM MIDP 2.0 Java Emulator download for Windows Mobile PocketPC - Softpedia, then install the Sprint TV jar/jad and run Sprint TV. Surely it couldn't be this simple? If it is, someone pull the app off a phone and post it somewhere so we can dl and install Sprint TV via the emulator.
I have MobiTV for Pocket PC and it works. I'm not thrilled with it. Most channels don't stay connected for me for more than 5 minutes. It often freezes up. I like the idea, and I'd be willing to pay a subscription, but I'm not happy with the quality. I have much better luck streaming radio stations from Live365 or shoutcast.
