any recommendations for Flight Status Software or good website?

Anyone know if there is free flight status software out there like the one for the Palm platform (http://www.andrewsoft.net/)?

I used this program with my old treo 650 and it was great when I had to go to the airport to pick people up and I wasn't near a computer... I have seen that Wolrldmate has this option but I'm not sure I want to shell out all the $$ just to get flight status information.

Anyway, if anyone knows of a good mobile friendly website for checking flight status that'd be great too.

Thanks...

Will www.flightarrivals.com work for you? It's not exactly mobile friendly, but it's not mobile unfriendly either.

fasttrack.flightexplorer.com is pretty good, particularly if you send it throught he google mobile optimizer: http://www.google.com/gwt/n?q=flight...texplorer.com/

Thanks for all the suggestions... I think I'm going to use the flight explorer link for now using google optimizer. Works pretty well and it's pretty fast.

Questions about the info2go program though... Just how buggy is it? Does it crash a lot or do you have to soft reset your PPC? It looks very promising. Do you use it for anything else? Where does it get its information from? for weather, movies, and flights? Are the flight times/updates accurate? Thanks.

If you are an American Airlines frequent flyer, I believe they have a flight schedule web site for mobile devices. But I can't remember the URL off the top of my head. It shouldn't be hard to find out though.

The only buggy part about it is that it can only do one query at a time (and is painfully slow to load). For some reason the app doesnt handle the data conn well so once you do a query, you have to exit the app and open it back up to do another query. Otherwise it works as advertised.

I like it, the 411 Yellow Pages, Movies, Flight search, Driving Directions all work well for me and have been pretty accurate. I dont use its weather since I use SpB Weather and havent used the White pages yet or Interest Points.

Its got a nice feature where it will cache results offline for ya as well so u can recall the number for pizza hut without having to go back to the net.

Its supposed to have a cool feature that can find all the info close to you based on localization using the nearest cell tower but I havent tested this feature to see if its supported on our device.

Not sure where they poll their info from, youd have to email them and ask that.. They claim in their most recent update to have updated all thier data contracts to better services so supposedly a large part of the price is going towards off setting the info they are paying for....

Flight Info and Flight Tracker

Here are my two favorites:

Flight Info: http://wireless.galileo.com/servlet/...serviceIdTag=3

Flight Tracker: (near real-time locator): http://wireless.galileo.com/servlet/...serviceIdTag=7

Most of the airlines also have mobile-friendly sites, for example:

NWA: http://wireless.nwa.com/
Continental: http://pda.continental.com/PocketPC/
American: http://aa.flightlookup.com/omnisky/
Delta: http://mobile.delta.com/

Hope that helps...

e-skyguide

A program I use althought not for flight tracking per se' is e-skyguide. This is a very powerful database program that allows me to find oout what flights go from any airport to any other. It's great if a flight cancels. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to work with WM 5.0 only on my ppc 6600.

I think the galileo sites may have been disabled. A few weeks ago I was using one provided by Trip.com which no longer works, and I get session timeout errors when trying the links you provided.

Wierd. Those links don't work for me either, although I can still access the sites on my PDA. Actually I access both Galileo links from a main page here: http://wireless.galileo.com/servlet/...e/websites.wml

Try that an see if it works for you. It did for me this morning.

ksawatsky, did you have to login to get to that page. It looks like were riding your session which is logged in and they have an extremely long timer on their sessions. I'm just curious if I'd have to register and login to use this site or if access is default public.

I guess I could test it by hitting the logout button to kill the session and see if we can get back in but dont want to ruin the link for others trying to see what this does

No login necessary if you use the link to the main page above. I've never really understood the "logout". I got the original link from pdaportal.com, I think...

I have been using www.flytecomm.com as a web based solution. They also have a $3.99 subscription for PDAs.
