Finally figured out the Voice Command volume problem.
Go to your reg editor (I use PHM)
HKEY Current User - Control panel - Sound Catagories - Voice Command -
Change:
Attenuation Catagory - Value 1
InitVol - Value 3
This made mine as loud as the ringer, which is pretty loud after I applied the sound hack.
This is interesting. I previously did not make any reg hacks to the VC. But, seeing this post made me take a look at the reg entry. In my PPC-6700, the reg key is found in
HKEY Current User - Control panel - Sound Catagories - Voice Command1 - (there's an extra "1" at the end). Also, the value in "attenuation catgory" is 3 (not 1) and the value for "Initvol" is 5.

Does anyone else have these same values?
These were the same as mine. I played around a bit and changed each of the above dword values to a few different combinations, ranging from 0 to 7, and ended up with just changing AttenuationCategory to 1. Lowering the number for InitVol seemed to clip the end of the Voice Command announcements.
i've already played with these settings and tried just about every combination possible. i still don't think it's loud enough for "real world" use and certainly not as loud my ringer.
It seems that there is some confusion onhow to apply this hack with some.
Here is how you do it.
Open your regedit program
Go to
HKEY Current User - Control panel - Sound Catagories - Voice Command (or Voicecommand1)-
click on voice command(or voicecommand1) and look for the keys and value section
In the settings
Change:
Attenuation Catagory - Value 1
InitVol - Value 3
Close the edit app
soft reset
and then you might need to check your settings in Voice Command.
Once you have the VOice command settings set for the phone for announce calls, etc
Then call your phone and see if you notice an increase in volume.
If you are running any 3rd party apps, you might need to make sure the volume is set to full.
The 6700 doesn't come with this software, at least not from verizon. Which is the best one to get?
thanks
Marilene
This thread is talking about a volume fix for Microsoft Voice Command. If you would like more information on this software or alternatives, please do a search for "voice command." This thread should be kept on topic. Thanks!
Attenuation value of "1" is what is important. You dont have to soft reset for the change to work. You can change the key and call yourself and its already in effect.

Someone tell me if this hack works on yours.

I must say that was GREAT, it really worked... Quick question is there a way of making it even louder?
