Lightbulb How many times do you Soft Reset per day?

How many times do you have to do a Soft Reset per day? Whether because of errors, installing things, or just "preventative maintenance".

I am averaging 2x a day. It is steadily going up, the more "No Modem Found" errors I get.

At the very least, I have to do it once a day.

Maybe once every two weeks or so. Sometimes for no real need.

Once every week or two. Unless I'm experimenting with new software.

If you are resetting multiple times a day and your not tinkering then I'd say you hve some software incompatibility or your running some ****ty beta software that's causing some issues.

I'd say probably about once or twice a week. Sometimes for something I did, such as leaving the GPS software running and looking for the BT GPS and then stepping away from the car; that often causes the device to become very slow.

Once a day after the scheduled backup. Maybe 1-2 times a week that are just because it decided it needed one.

Once every 3-4 days -- usually just for prevention. My xv6700 rarely locks up, requiring a soft reset.

Hard resets to date = 0

Well, my soft resets come mostly from "No Modem Found" error. Because I use Power Vision service all the time.

I hope someone comes up with a permanent fix for that one.

I have to soft boot at least once, usually more than once a day due to random lockup problems. I'm sure its from software not compatible with windows mobile (today screen plugin) but I still need to use it.

Which plugin do you think is causing this?

I used to have to do it two to three times a day to overcome the backlight not coming on. When I uninstalled Mortsaver 2 everything seemed to clear up for me. Now one caveat is that I had originally installed it to memory and then reinstalled it to the memory card and I think it was running multiple copies but I never verified this. I just uninstalled and deleted both directories.

typically I have to reset twice a day, it depends on how much syncing is going on with Lotus Notes. If a lot of appointments have been added for me and need to sync, things just get crazy and lock up.

I soft-reset once a week, when the device gets sluggish from too many times switching between programs. Otherwise, I run a memory cleaner.

Once or twice a week. No different than my PC and that is what this device is...a Pocket PC.

After cleaning up my system with a hard reset that purged a bunch of junk-files that got stuck in my storage memory, and a reinstallation of only necessary and proven progs, I'm way down from 4-6 resets a day to 0... or only when I run Sprite Backup, which does soft resets automatically 2x.

1 Hard reset: PITA but worth it!

Only when installing software. So far the only thing that has made the system unstable has been various thridparty apps.. So I just removed them..
