ORB not working all of the sudden (no suitable codec error)?

I tried to log into orb from my remote pc and keep getting an "orb cannot find a suitable codec on your home pc to stream this file. Please go to www.orb.com/codecs to get a suitable codec". This happens no matter what I try to stream (music, tv, recorded video, etc). The weird thing is the page they try to send you to doesn't exist. I have not made any changes that could have caused this. Has anyone seen this? Thanks in advance for the help!!

NOTE:

Video actually works (live or recorded) its just the music that gives that error. I use napster and WM10.

With all due respect, jhat3k1, dlbrummels is a very informed user, and though he doesn't post as often on here, I've seen him on many other forums with helpful replies.

I'd suggest reinstalling Orb, or possibly doing a remote upgrade. The newest build of Orb pretty much broke everything for me, so I had to regress to the previous build. Two steps forward three steps back for Orb these days...

Like I said, if you have done no changes in software etc., maybe run a virus checker, addware, trojans etc.

I have experienced no changes with the latest Orb on my PC all codecs are installed and working.

All else failing, do what Sym says, remove and re-install a prevoius known working version.

Thanks Symbiotic,

I registered here back in the old Kyo 6135 days, moved to the Treo Line, spent my time at TC, upgraded to a 6700 and now I'm here.

I generally am responding from work, which is done on a crappy thin client while I keep a 640,000 sq ft distribution center running each day, so my input is gennerally short and brief.

I do not know how you took it as insult. He just said your PC could be infected. Then you slung the insult. (shrug) Anyway try looking in the orb icon in the tray and right click on it. Go to configure and see what codec orb is using . Maybe you are trying to use the wrong one.
