(I just upgraded to Clean and Simple ROM and need to do these little ditties. It took me a while to find these so I figure I would post these for future reference)

The tips I have seen on pdaphonehome.com for doing this seem to be missing some pertinent info. I had only sporadic luck getting the icon to show up. To enable GPS in ‘Settings’ use a regeditor and do this:

Start up a registry editor (i usedPHM regedit)
Go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\GPS Settings
Delete the Dword in there and the value and replace them with:
A new DWORD called “Group” and give it the value of “2″ (dec)
And create a new string called “(default)” with no value (I think there was originally a string called redirect, rename this “(default)” if it’s there
The GPS panel will now show up in your connection settings.

note: you may have to soft reset after each stage if it appears not to work straight away

I figured that since the screen auto rotates when you open the keyboard that there isn't much point to the screen rotater in the lower righthand corner that loads with CommManager. I was playing around the registry and found a way to choose what does and doesn't load there. Go to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services
Here you can select what shows up by selecting the service and changing the "ShowIcon" value. Example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\ScreenRotate\ShowIcon \ 0 will remove the screen rotater. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Services\Power\ShowIcon \ 1 will put a battery meter there. Hope this helps.
