this is useful to add things you type often but aren't picked up by autocomplete (like your email address), remove mispelled words and remove unwanted words.

PPC 6700 is now my TV remote control and favorite paperweight lol
**WARNING** Extremely Long Post, but definately worth reading.***
Ok, so I have been reading threads for the last 5 days trying to figure this out how to activate my M$ Voice Command from a bluetooth headset. What I had found is that out of the box, the PPC-6700 does not come with an application that is needed in order to properly be able to hack the registry. The registry hack that everyone had been seeing floating around wouldn't work because the program "Voice Speed Dial" hadn't been installed on the phone. Well, I recently updated the firmware on my phone and low-and-behold what program was installed with the new firmware? You guessed it, the new firmware installs both "Voice Speed Dial", as well as Smart Dialer.
So here are the steps needed to be able to activate Voice Command from your bluetooth headset.
First Step, which is one that I think everyone (on sprint) needs to do anyway is to update your firmware on the phone. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, then take your phone to Sprint and they will do it for you. You can find the firmware by following these steps;
1.) Logon to sprint: https://manage.sprintpcs.com/Manage/...t/p/.scr/Login
2.) Go to "Phone Details"
3.) Go to "Software Download"
4.) Select "Windows CE" as your OS
5.) Pick the first link, which should be the upgrade application.
Now, the only issue with doing this is that you are resetting your device back to factory defaults. You will need to re-install Microsoft voice command, and any other programs that you had installed and want back. This also fixes quite a few bugs that the OS had. I saw some pretty instant differences when I installed mine. The total time it takes to do this is about 20 minutes (not including installing all the software you had on it, and going through and setting up your phone).
Install MS Voice Command
Ok, you have updated your firmware and you have installed MS Voice Command. The next step is to install a registry editor, my choice would be PHM Registry Editor: http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities...ryeditor.shtml . Just Sync up to your PPC and drop this file somewhere in your "My Documents". An even smarter thing to do would be to create a folder on your storage card called "My Cabs" and save all cab files there in case you run into problems and need to reinstall. This makes it easy to find them (Just a suggestion).
Now navigate to this .cab and click it to install the registry editor.
Once the registry editor is in place you need to do the following;
Open up your newly installed registry entry program from your "Programs" menu.
Then goto "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\OEM\VoiceCommand\Path".
Change the default value from "\Windows\SDDialer.exe" to "\Program Files\Voice Command\VoiceCMD.exe".
Now you should be able to activate Micrsoft Voice Command by pressing the connect button on your bluetooth headset.
Once that is done, you should now be able to activate Voice Command from your bluetooth headset.
My hat's off to all the actual individuals who did the research to find these registry keys, and all the posts that lead me to my final result.
This will show if you are on your home network or roaming, also it will show if your WiFi & bluetooth is On/Off. Very cool hack, thanks to that_kid for posting this over at pdaphonehome.com
Add new Dword with a name Flags and the value is "0"
Add new Dword with a name Options and the value is "0"
Add new String Value with a name DLL value is "netui.dll"
Add new Dword with a name Order and the value is "0"
Add new Dword with a name Enabled and the value is "1"
Add new Dword with a name Type and the value is "4
Now close the program and soft reset the phone.
edit: lol, and the guy I snagged it from found it here to begin with. Well. I didnt see it the first time i went through this list of hacks. sooo ill leave it up.
Put the phone in speaker phone mode and flip it so that the loud speaker is against your ear not the ear speaker. You will actually have to turn the volume down and the mic works just as well. Works great in places with lots of background noise.
I searched and didn't see this on this thread, so here you go...
In my old sprint phones, before the PPC versions (ie regular cell phones), I was able to speed dial some one by dialing their respective number and then hitting send. For example, my house line was set as speed dial in slot 2. If I wanted to dial my house line, I would dial "2" and then press "send" and it would connect. Not so in the PPC phones...
However, on my PPC-6700, I found that if you press and hold the number, it will dial the number associated with the speed dial. For example, if I want to dial my house line now (still assigned to the second speed dial), I press and hold "2" and then it connects!
After a soft reset, go into camera mode and open the tools button. Hit the left tools soft key go to the general tab and uncheck "keep backlight on while in viewfinder".
Now when picture taking with the flash on, the led will light up, and when the picture is snapped it will go super bright for 1/2 second.

Moderators; I'm a noob here, so feel free to put this thread where appropriate.
I got so tired of hitting the power button and shutting it off because the screen was off but unit was on. And tired of trying to find a place to click on the screen to turn screen on that would not disturb what ever I was last doing. So I set ALL 4 timers to exactly the same value (2 minutes). Now when the screen is off I know the unit is off. Much simpler.
Also I discovered if you soft reboot while connected to power it will NOT charge (even if you dosconnect and reconnect). You can only soft reboot on battery. It will show the charging symbol on the display but it will not charge and the Yellow/Green light will not come on.
credit goes to someone else who mentioned this in a thread...but if your backlight goes off but the device is on, instead of tapping somewhere on the screen and trying not to hit anything (the goal being to turn the backlight back on), you can just hit the camera button - it has no function on single press so it won't do anything except turn your backlight on and/or reset your "off timers (ie backlight, power, idle, etc.)"

You could also just move the d-pad. That works as well and is pretty easy to get to.
2nd, go to www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/RegEdit/ and downlowd the edit hack. I did it from my phone. For the current selection: just use the Pocket PC 2002,2003 (ARM/PXA). Once your phone is synced open this file and it will auto sync to your phone…
2a. Go to start > programs and go to PHM RegEdit
2b. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\UI
find EnableServerEdit
and change it from 0 to 1
3. Soft reset (otherwise it won't act right!)
4. Go to Start >> Programs >> Messaging and tap "Menu" (on a 6700 it is the bottom right-hand corner). You should see a new option for "MMS Configuration..."
5. Tap the "Servers" tab. Verizion will probably be listed there alread.
6. Tap the "New" button.
FOR THE REMAINING ITEMS DO NOT INCLUDE THE QUOTES WHEN ENTERING INFORMATION!!!
7. Enter a name for the server. I entered "SprintPCS".
8. Leave Gateway blank.
9. Enter "80" for the Port Number.
10. Enter "http://mms.sprintpcs.com/servlets/mms" for the Server Address.
11. Select "350K" for the Sending size limitation.
12. Select "2.0" for WAP.
13. Tap "OK".
14. Select "SprintPCS" (or whatever you named the server in step #7 above) using your joystick. (If you tap it you'll be taken back into the server details again; if so, just tap cancel.)
15. Tap the "Set As Default" button.
16. Tap "Ok" at the upper right hand corner of the screen.
You should be good to go from there. (you've been assimilated).
Now, take a picture with the camera, and when the preview to keep or discard comes up tap the "send" icon. You'll get a dialog that lets you select between MMS or Email. Choose MMS.
As another option, you can go to an existing photo (using the embedded Pictures and Video; I personally use Resco Photoviewer)and tap the "Send" button.
By default, Windows Mobile does not close applications when you tap the 'X' at the upper right corner of an application. The program disappears from the main screen but keeps running in the background.
There are two ways of taking care of this. One is that you periodically go to Start -> Settings -> System -> Memory -> Running Programs and then selecting the program and tapping stop. You can also exit the program more directly by tapping CTRL+Q on the soft keyboard. This completely closes the program and removes it from memory.
You can record your phone calls with just a press of a button and without purchasing any additional software. It's built into Windows Mobile. There are only two steps to it:
1. First we need to assign a button to the recording software. Go to Start > Settings > Button.
2. Select the button of your choice and select RECORD from the Assign a Program list.
From now, when you receive a phone call, just press and hold the assigned button and you'll get your calls recorded.

how do i get my ring tone to play from my ppc6700 to my bluetooth headset motorola H500
I don't think you can. I believe the audio channel doesn't open until you actually press the talk button on your headset. The device just lets the headset know theres an incoming call.

Try searching for BTAudio, IDTransfer, and any posts by Bad Sector. With MS voice command, the software sends all audio (including caller ID announcement AND ringtone) to the BT headset.
I have set my alarm on the 6700 to a wav file. it plays at the same time as some default alarm when the reminders notification pops up. Does anyone know how to stop this from happening. I want just the wav file I choose to play.
