EDIT: The following post is a registry tweak to store the Pocket Internet Explorer data on your Mini-SD card instead of the internal storage. It currently results in a PocketIE error where it crashes and closes immediately after loading a page. Clearing the data using the options in PocketIE solves the problem temporarily.
I set the WAVEDev priority to 1 and get no skips when playing mp3's with TCPMP now. I'm not sure what I might have f'd up in the process but so far I haven't missed any calls.
I just noticed that if you double tap the red button on the keyboard, it keeps the function locked on. I don't know if this is a repost but I figured it ouy tonight and figured I would share.

Thanks Todd - u too! Glad to be able to help out with WM when I can.
To close the application selected with the 5 way, just hold down the 5 way for a few seconds. The application will close, and the other windows will re-align themselves nicely. Another thing to note- initially Dynamo will assign itself to your camera button. Don't panic though, as it is easy to re-assign it. First go to your button assignments in Settings, then re-assign your record button (could really be any button, but I wanted to use record) specifically to "None." Once it is assigned to none, run Dynamo, or if it already running, press and hold the camera button to initialize it. You will see your active applications. Instead of clicking with the stylus on one of the applications, click and hold your stylus in the blue background area. You will see a menu pop-up where you can adjust your settings and re-assign the Dynamo button to the record button. Once assigned, you're all set- anytime you want to switch applications, or close either your current or other running applications, hit record once, and Dynamo wil instantly display in its animated splendor.
Originally posted by BlueLyNk well see I did read the whole thread all 18 pages, I had to just wait for the txt bubble mod, real problem is everytime I send a txt msg I get one back in a few moments from MYSELF saying SUCCESS and I don't know to take it off
Are you talking about the message sent message u get when you send a message? if you are its on the 2nd page of this Thread. here
Originally posted by BlueLyNk Okay.. let me start over.. When i send a txt msg, i used to get a Sending Txt Notification and i was only able to Dismiss it, that REGEDIT mod with the SMSNoSentMsg got rid of that first notification. A few seconds later, i get an actual TXT message and it is coming from me. and it says Success and the Number that i sent it to.
So basically i used to get two notifications, one saying its being sent and the other saying that has been sent, i got rid of the one that says it is being sent by using the SMSNoSentMsg mod, but i still get a txt message saying that it was a success.
ive already done the Txt msg mod in this thread.. it took away the first one(notification), but not the actual txt that tells me that it has been sent
Ok, now I understand what you are referring to. To get rid of delivery notifications go to Messaging, and from there tap on * Text Messages. Now uncheck Request delivery notifications, and tap ok. You should be all set. Try it and let us know.
Basically, in Pocket Windows Media Player you can assign a button to toggle the screen on/off in the options -> buttons, while you have something playing. I assigned the "Enter" button, aka the joystick click, and it works very well!
I then clicked on the + signs to open some initially hidden sections, that after a few clicks, got me to forums, and from there it was a piece of cake.
Re: SPB Pocket Plus Button Configuration to really Close an application

Originally posted by wjkmlux SPB Pocket Plus (build 3.0.4) is working like a charm on my xv6700. It allows you to assign a command or open an application by configuring the hardware buttons. It is much more configurable than the wm5 button assignment feature under Start/Settings/Buttons.
I have it set up so the OK button actually closes an application vs. the wm5 default (OK/Close) which simply minimizes it.
Very handy for all of you that like to actually close applications when you're done with them to conserve your program memory.
If you are still on your trial period of SPB P+ and you are just looking for that close app feature, you can try out Magic Button or vijay555's VJOKButt...both are freeware and does that same thing as SPB's close button...

I use Orb, so I figured I'd do a little test of the three big browsers and their speeds. (this applies to all users of web browsing) I did this test using the WiFi connection at my house - not EVDO - to get a reliable and repeatable data rate. I have a PC upstream speed of 900kbps, and on my laptop I usually get a downstream of 1.5mbps with the built in speed test of Orb (in reality my connection surges to 5mbps when connected to Usenet). Pocket Internet Explorer was able to connect to Orb with just a mere 177kbps-270kbps, repeatabley, though I have seen seen it has high as 400kbps with EVDO in the past. Minimo got an astounding 1.9mpbs, but it did so with literally about 100 security certificate warnings. its still a beta, so hopefully they will fix that. the new Opera beta was able to connect at a very fast 1.4mbps, and did so flawlessly. so moral of the story: if you use Orb, use Opera, and even if you don't use Orb Opera seems to load much faster for normal pages (and it might mitigate having to hack PIE to show as v6.0 to log into secure web sites like banks. The only catch with Opera and Orb is that you have to manually open the stream after clicking on the link, which isn't a big deal as it only requires one extra click for over a megabit of bandwidth gain! hope this helps...
you could always just set the orb speed manually instead of using the speed test - that would avoid the need for opera...the streaming is through wmp10 or tcpmp so the bandwidth issue is not related to the browser - you could also do the speed test again manually (look at the bottom of the my.orb.com page) and it usually is more accurate that way...i log into orb, it does the auto speed test, and then i do a speed test again to get a more accurate result.

PPC 6700 is now my TV remote control and favorite paperweight lol
caution.. i got mine 3 weeks ago and my sub keys are red with the led being white. i wish my led were a blue of some sort since during the day the led being white and my main keyboard being silver the contrast is no good. i do have a small led set of lights that i am going to try here in a week or so.. when i get the courage.
!!!will report back!!!
I love my PPC but this is the only thing that will illuminate my KB. Actually if I cant see the buttons I place my hand flat 3 inches above the screen so the light reflects off my hand allowing me to quickly find a dim button.
Can someone confirm this hack?
Boost/Increase Windows Media Player Volume
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences
Volume = 52444 (default)
I changed it to 82444 and it seems to amplify the volume because sometimes even at 100% some audio files would sound very quiet.
Can someone confirm that this indeed makes the volume louder or am I just imagining it?
PPC 6700 via the CDMA Cell Modem is outside most home or corporate routers. Home routers can be configured by thier owners to port forward 3389 and/or 5900 so you can access home computers running Remote Desktop and/or VNC Server.
To get to computer inside of a corporate router, typically you need a VPN program to get past the corporate router. PPC 6700 has a built-in PPTP VPN which works with Windows 2003 Server. For Cisco VPN I have purchased the http://www.bluefiresecurity.com/orders/
$79 Bluefire VPN Client which works with WM5 and the PPC 7600. This may require some manual configuration so that the client and router security settings match.
Once you VPN through the Firewall then you can use Remote Desktop or VNC to initiate a remote session.
http://www.logmein.com
Has a free Remote Client that easily installs on PC and PPC. It even gets through Firewall without VPN. Try It!
WAV for SMS/EMAIL/Alerts/Alarms:
Add WAV files into "\Windows\" Folder
They will now be available in the Settings>Sounds and Notifications section.
Recommendation: Use only 5-20 second long clips for Alerts to save space.
I did this and my imported WAVs don't show up in the Sounds and Notifications tab. Does anyone know how to import WAVs to actually use for the notifications? Thanks!
***This is not completely compatible with WM5, but will work in certain situations. Use this tip with that in mind. I have e-mailed the developer to release a WM5 ver, but have not heard back.***
When I used to run PPC 2002, 2003 and older, there was a small app called No Plug-ins Today by ictinus. I tracked it down, and found the url.
It's main purpose is to remove all today plugins from the today screen...It really enhances battery life, and cleans up the screen nicely.
I loaded it, assigned it to a soft button using a registry tweak program, and it worked...mostly. The calendar did not disappear. There mist be some sort of discrepancy in registry data from 2002, 2003, and WM5. All of my other plugins did disappear, however. As a work-around, I purchased SPB Diary, and integrated it as a plug-in into SPB Pocket Plus. When SPB disappeared, so did the offending bit of the calendar. This may work with other today replacements, Snoopsoft, etc...but I do not know. See screen-shots below for an idea.
This tweak greatly increases battery life. With no use, the phone will last 3 or more days!!!!!!
