My xv6700 is taunting me (won't answer some calls)

First of all, let me say that this site is an amazing resource for my phone - I've already overcome many hurdles thanks to searching these forums.

My current problem is this:

I've had my xv6700 for about two weeks, and about 6 or so times, the phone rings, I see who it is on caller id, but when it press answer, it keeps ringing, as if I didn't press the button. I've tried pressing the physical button on the phone (the green phone button as well as the generic "-" button under answer) and I've tapped "answer" on the screen with the stylus. No luck!

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the numbers it is doing this with, so I can't claim it's doing anything smart, like keeping me from talking to ex girlfriends or something like that...

I'm not sure if it's checking my email at the time or what, but this is really frustrating, as this is my business phone.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have one day left to return the phone to verizon. I love the thing, and would hate to have to do that.

Thanks in advance,

-Will

If you've got any memory-hogging 3rd party programs installed that could be a factor. Especially if the phone was asleep when the call came in... the inability to answer may be a side effect of the "slow to wake up" problem.

If you're using Pocket Plus, Wisbar, or any other large app you may want to consider removing it to see if the problem goes away. As a last resort, you could try a hard reset and then don't load any 3rd party apps on to see if the behavior continues. If it does then you should get an RMA.

Thanks for the quick response. Actually, I noticed the problem before I knew about any of the cool programs or hacks available - the phone was vanilla...

Sounds like I may have a lemon

Thanks again,

-Will

I'm having the same issue with mine. I think it's because It's because I have it auto-synching. I've turned this off, gonna give it another try. I have no 3rd party apps installed, had the phone about 2 weeks.

+++++++++++++

I've gone the entire day trouble free by disabling ReadySync. I have to run a manual sync to update, but my phone didn't hang all day.

I'm also using the strong password on my XV6700. I believe the combination of password (locked), synchronization and incoming all is too much to handle.

I've eliminated one and it's working fine. I don't seem to have any problems with ReadySync enable, doc'd in the cradle and using WiFi.

Same problem at first

I had the same problem for a few days. In addition the thing would take 20 seconds or so to turn on. Sometime I had to reset it to turn on

At first I though it was Voice Commander, so I removed it- no improvement.

Then I removed SPB Pockeplus (latest edition) and the problem went away.

Later I read in an intial product review (somewhere on the web I can't recall), and it said SPB pocket plus had a goober in it that caused a long delay if you had the SD Card usage monitor on.

So I re-installed SPB, removed the SD Card Monitor icon and it's been a week with no problems.
