trying to edit registry but seems it is locked!!

I've done some searching on this forum, but no luck so far.

I just picked up my 6700 from Verizon last week, and I am unable to edit the registry.

I've tried a few different programs with the same results.

What can I try to do to unlock?

Thanks!

Mike

Have you successfully installed PHM Regedit? It's the program that you need to edit the registry.
Directions on installing the cab can be found on this forum. (search)

Note: with any WM5 device, you need to do a soft reset after any registry changes to see the effect.

Not really, just turn it on and off and most things will go into effect

No luck so far...

Those key symbols are not indicating a loicked folder, they are the registry keys, the actual database items that you would be changing.

I guess what I am missing is how to edit the database items? All I can see with the app is the main 4 folders and that all have keys on them and appear to be locked, I cannot select them, open them etc.

It must be something stupid I am missing.

Thanks to all.
