http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/i...eusasmiles.gif . . . FWIW, and I realize that this may be anecdotal, but . . . I had serious issues with Sprite WM5 backup when using the safe mode feature of SPB Pocket Plus. When running Sprite Backup, after it does its automatic restart prior to backup, my machine froze repeatedly at the Sprint Spash Screen (not the Blue Windows Mobile Splash), and did not even allow the oppurtunity to re-boot in safe mode, even though this was enabled via PocketPlus. It led to only the 2nd Hard Reset I've ever had to do with this machine despite a fair amount of experimentation. Ironically this allowed me a first real life test of Sprites "good as new" restore claims --- the program is *really* "all that", my system was restored to just about baseline, except for a few minor settings. The safe mode issue also caused hard resets when combined with Sprite and installation of the E-TEN_ M600 much preferred larger dialer skin. However, at the end of the day, Sprite restored each hard reset perfectly, and once I disabled the "safe mode option at each soft reset", the hard resets dissappeared (and I was able to install the dialer pad without incident). YMMV. Incidentally, any easy way to make a clone of my mini-SD card that I could store away from my PPC ??
Interesting. I have the VZW version and I don't have SBP set to boot in safe mode so I can't comment on that aspect.
As for the clone of your SD card, just copy it's contents to a folder on your computer. Not a "clone" in the true sense, but it will safeguard your SD contents.

Thanks for the suggestion, and I did exactly that, however what's odd is that, although my 1 gig card shows about 600mb of use (2/3 full with movies, cabs etc.), my backup file is only 82mb in size and some of the files names and such hardly bear any resemblance to the SD card ?? I realize that there must be some conversion algorithm that goes on, but huh ?? --- If I then copy this backed up file to another SD card, would it then be interchangable with the one I now have ?? --- TIA
I had it on but set to only if the device doesn't respond after one minute, not every soft reset. I just disabled it to be safe!
... The 'one minute' setting seems to be a good idea, except for two things; (1) I'm not sure about your machine, but with mine, it's often close to a minute, or even longer, pause when sprite backup is doing its thing, and resetting my device -- I don't know if that might inadvertently activate the safe mode and then cause issues, and (2) Sprite backup is so reliable (seems to be, anyways, after several hard resets) that I wonder if safe mode is even necessary --- with 3/4 or my storage memory filled with numerous programs etc., it took just around 6 -7 minutes total, to be back to normal, including Sprint routine installs (audible player, software store etc.). But then, you know how it is, each machine, with various programs installed is different . . .
I see how to uninstall SPB Plus safe mode (under the uninstall component option.). I would like to selectively enable or disable it (so it does not interfere with Sprite Backup). SPB Plus has a "backup settings" option but I assume that just saves the settings and not installed components. (I was thinking I could backup SPB Plus with safe mode installed, then unisntall it, and then restore) Anyone know if that works or some other way to do it?
