mp3 skipping/stuttering with mortplayer and gsplayer, please help

Is anyone else experiencing problems with 3rd party mp3 software skipping a few times during each song? I have both of the latest versions of gsplayer and mortplayer and music on both seems to skip a fraction of a second many times during mp3 playback. Is there any buffer settings or other settings I can change to eliminate this problem? Windows media player seems to work fine but I like to be able to use an EQ and I really like gsplayer. I have several storage cards and i get the same results using either card.

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

Yes. It was happening to me also. I have a fix.

Actually I might have two..

Does the skipping happen while you have the phone plugged in and charging? My phone would not skip while it was charging. I noticed that running PocketHackMaster would stop it from skipping also. Even with no overclocking it would play fine.

A better fix, This is what I have done now.. No more skips. Even when using Tomtom and playing mp3's with TCPMP in the background. I haven't noticed any downsides either.

Registry
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\WaveDev\Priority256

Modify DWORD Data to 1

This will give the sound process a higher priority over other apps.

You can read more about it here..

Ahhh.... this is exactly what i was looking for. I figured it had something to do with the priority of the software, or the memory card access. Thanks. I'll give that a shot.
