Exclamation Acquiring Network Address (6700 will not sync)

I've Searched the forums, and have found many threads with issues syncronizing Activsync with their home PC, but none so far with my particular issue.

1. My 6700 has NEVER synced with my pc, even straight out of the box. I've been trying and searching for 5 days now for an answer. I have tried disabeling all but the USB option, but I still get nothing.

2. On the device/Connections: Beam is disabled, Bluetooth is off, Wireless Lan is off, Connections contains only my Verizon Connection, Network Cards I have not touched (well.. once, but I fixed that and I only even looked there because of this thread Fix for "Pocket PC Networking: Unable to obtain a server-assigned IP address.".

3. Windows Firewall is disabled, and I do not have any other software firewall installed atm.

4. I have installed/reinstalled AS 4.0/4.1/3.8 .. I think 13 times (thus my "local area connection 13") That is including reboots and registry wipes.

5. When I connect the usb/cradle/device to my PC the connection DOES work. I get the animated network connection icon on my system tray which says "Acquiring network address..." This also coincides with the local area connection in my Network Properties, which says the same thing.

6. I have tried editing the network properties manually, but the connection only changes to "connected" but does nothing because it's obviously not right. This tells me that the problem is probably on the device end.

7. On my local area connection, all 3 boxes are checked (someone said there were supposed to be 4 but I've never seen 4 anywhere).

At the moment, that's all I can think of. I haven't seen anyone else with this exact issue, at least anyone who cannot sync another way. Since I don't use an exchange server, "help me O-B1 Kenobe, You're my only hope!"

I had the same problem

I was demoing a sprint phone for my company and loved it, so I went out and bought my own. When I connected it to my computer I got the same thing, I tried multiple machines and it wouldn't work. I took it back to sprint and they gave me another one. That one worked just fine.
It must be something wrong with the phone itself. I hard reset mine about 1000 times and it never worked, Must be a bad phone.

Unhappy Out Again...

Well, the system wipe fixed the problem. Worked Great for about 2 days, then right before i went to bed it quit recognizing the sync. I would get the occasional "device not recognized" but it would normally sync up right after.

Now I get the default windows notification bling-bling when the USB connects, and the device shows up in device manager under USB Root Hub / Properties / Power as Windows Mobile-based device, AND under Network Adapters / Windows Mobile-based Device #2. but No AS sync

I think it may have something to do with the Windows Updates I was applying that night. The most recent was Windows Media Player 10. And it looks like I'm going to have to wipe the system again, and re-test the updates to find out when/where it actually quits working again.

If I didn't have 70 hours of work to do, I'd be able to get it all done by tomorrow.. but it looks like I'll have to settle for this weekend.
