Does using #777 count against the minutes? how to connect to wifi or EVDO??

I'm a brand new PDA phone user (PPC-6700) and had a couple of questions about connecting to the internet.

I can connect just fine. However, it always dials #777. Is this the correct way to connect?

I bought the phone so that I could take advantage of EVDO and Wi-Fi but I havent found a way to connect to the Sprint Wi-Fi or EVDO. I am in their area and I did purchase the vision plan.

Does using #777 count against the minutes?

TIA,
RaynMan

RaynMan,

Dialing #777 is the proper way to connect and it will not count against your minutes. To use WIFI you have to enable it (hold down the IE button on the side of the phone to get to that feature) and be in WIFI range. When you dial #777 Sprint will automatically use EVDO if it's available. You should be able to tell as it's faster than 1x.

Also on the top of the screen you should see EV when connected via EVDO and 1X when connected by 1xRTT.

Best way to connect

I'm new to my Sprint ppc-6700 and was wondering the best way to connect to the internet.

I can connect to the internet now just fine, but it dials #777 to get on. I purchased the vision plan so I could take advantage of EVDO (available in my area) and Wi-Fi. Maybe dialing #777 does connect to EVDO, but I can't tell. It does run rather slow.

Also, does dialing in count against the minutes in the plan?

TIA,

RaynMan

My humble apologies for the redundant messages.

I was trying to find replies to my original message but was unable to find it.
So, I typed up another one.

Of course, after sending the second one, I found the first one.

Complete rookie mistake. Sorry, and thanks to all that replied to my first one. That was very helpful.
