I am not trying to download any messages, but only when I am trying to send a picture do I get this message.
There was a problem some users were having with google mail. They could not send pictures, but could send other attachments. Someone figured out that the camera adds four extra bits that messed things up. To work around the problem, open the picture. Then rotate the picture four times (360 degrees) then save the picture. Now it will send. I cannot take credit for this, someone else on this forum came up with this fix.
had this same problem. couldnt figure it out for anything. even called VZW tech support and talked to them for a while. after so many soft resets i couldnt see straight, i had to get off the phone and go back to work.
Tried every phone setting that i could think of but couldnt figure it out for over a week.
last resort was a hard reset, which sucks if you dont have a backup program (i didnt have one at the time) so i reinstalled everything that i KNEW worked and voila, it worked. my only guess was that my conflict came from old versions of programs i tried to install that i had for my old WM2003 pda that ended up not working and not uninstalling completely on WM5.
i know this isnt the answer u were prolly lookin for but its the only thing that i found to work.
I had the same problem right out of the box. Sprint was no help. A hard reset did not fix my problem.
I tried emailing a 6700 campic TO gmail and it got rejected as an "illegal attachment" which is apparantly gmail's way of disallowing *.exe and *.zip attachments. Except this attachment was *.jpg.
I'm having the same problem with sending photos via gmail. There has got to be a better way other than rotating every picture you want to send. No one has posted on this thead since 3/1, so I'm hoping maybe someone has figured this out since then.
