can't wirelessly send email from default Outlook account (need to be connected to PC)

Ok here is the issue I have noticed. (yes i searched)

If you go to start/messaging it shows text messages along the top near the start logo
then you click on the inbox with the down arrow, then choose your outlook account that was added automatically and then click new, fill in the address where you want to send and email, then click on menu and insert, lets say a pic, so then you go click on the pic to attach(insert) it in your mail. then you add any text you want and click on send..

All is good up to this point. When i click send it goes in my outlook outbox and it doesnt send. It will however stay in my outbox until i sync then it moves to my desktop computer and then it sends from my PC.

If you click on menu and you are not synced up you get the send/rcv greyed out.. This option only seems to work when you sync and then send from PC.

I have the ability to set up an account for just my phone and i did that and it works fine, its just the default one doesnt unless it is synced up.

Does anyone else have this issue, if so have you fixed it... ???

I have been thinking about tring the MMS fix mentioned on here but i havent went that far yet. I have alltel not sprint so I wanted to try something else first to make sure.

Thanks

As I see it, this is by design. The default Outlook account is basically just a sync'd version of your desktop outlook account. If you want to be able to send/receive email from the device directly, you have to add another account. I know, it seems utterly retarded but basically the "Outlook Email" account is just a mirror image of whatever is in your outlook inbox/outbox on your desktop. I don't even bother using it for this reason alone since both would end up pointing to the same email account anyway. I'm guessing the "outlook email" is actually meant to be geared towards corporate email that you can't access from outside the network, thus syncing up with your PC that IS on the network will allow you to have access to that mail on the go. Also, once AKU2 comes out, that Outlook Email will actually be updated in real time without having to sync up. Make sense? It's kind of a non-descriptive way of separating your corporate email (sync'd via ActiveSync for now) and your other POP/IMAP email accounts.

Yes the Pocket Outlook is just to sync your pc, notice there are no options to change ? It is simply a conduit from your handheld to your PC.

I've never been very good at being concise.

hmmm

So, the default doesnt send email unless you sync, so you set up another account that will. Should it be the same as the default account or will the just mess things up even worse.

Setup another account pop.imap etc, if you use the same account that Outlook uses let's say for pop, you will just be duplicating the effort.

Pop will have the same messages as pocket outlook but the outlook is synced.

Basically you should only bother doing one or the other... otherwise you're going to end up having the same emails in both inboxes. If you're going to setup a pop or IMAP account and it's the same account you're using in Outloook on your desktop, don't even bother letting activesync sync your outlook inbox since you could just as easily get it by downloading it on your phone itself. As I said before, MS really intended the Outlook Mail on your device to be used with a corporate email account sync'd via push email from Exchange 2003 (despite AKU2 not really being available to end users yet).
