I got just my PPC-6700 for $225 from Sprint (and SERO)

First post...

I just received my PPC-6700 from Sprint. I only paid @225 for it and got it on the SERO plan.

Last week, I called (888 )312-0050 and they said it'd be $449, the website price.

This week, I called the main sprint line (800)Sprint1 They gave me a price of $225, but then couldn't sign me up on the SERO plan. They saved the information and gave me an account code. I then called (888 )312-0050 and they pulled up the account code and finished the registration. $225 out the door and the phone was here the next day.

Oh, and they never asked me to verify anything about the SERO plan. I even asked, and they didn't need anything... odd.

Hope that's helpful to somebody.

Wow. What was the big discount for? And pardon my ignorance but what exactly is the SERO plan?

Thumbs up

I got my 6700 at a Sprint Store for $149 + tax. Somebody had returned the phone earlier that day after using it for one day. They had to sell for 50% of the price I would pay for a new.

Not sure I understand how you got Sprint to price the phone at $225? Was there some discount you mentioned?

SERO is sprint employee referral program, you can view it by going to www.sprint.com/sero. enter user@sprint.com and your zip to view the plans/phones available. You would need a actual sprint employee email to sign up tho..

Did you try calling the (800)Sprint1 # first? When I called (888 )312-0050 directly for a phone price, they said $449, but when I called (800)Sprint1 first, I got the $225 price.

Maybe they just goofed, I dunno.

Ahhhhhhhh you have no idea how pissed I am to read this thread now. An old coworker of mine has worked for Sprint for 2 years now and I had no idea there was a referral plan $50 for 1250 mins with free Power Vision and mobile-to-mobile for $50? I'm paying $88 for 1000 mins with Power Vision + 500 text + insurance without the M2M. gahhhhhhhhhhh. My 14 day guarantee was up 2 days ago :furious:

Here's a few options to try:

1. Try to get them to move your account to the SERO plan. I got them to do it after repeatedly getting turned down until I reached someone who would do it.

2. Try to cancel. They might let ya out without ETF, it's only a couple days over. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

3. Eat the ETF, you'll break even after 4 months and be ahead for the remaining 20 months.

Same here, Found the phone on ebay for $249 from a reseller. Went to a corporate Sprint store (not an authorized agent) and told them about it. Had to go and print out a copy of the offer but they price matched it for me. Of course, I had to get a new line or new service but sinc eI already had service, I just added my girlfriend and gave her my halfway new phone. She got an xmas present a bit early, and I got my phone. Also since I had the 2200 mins a month plan, her line was free...so I am paying no more than I already did a month and have another line on my account.

Is there anyone that you know (a longtime girlfriend, family member, etc) that you would not mind getting a phone for? Or, if you have a high minutes plan and can add another line for free (might have to fork over another deposit) you can do like one of my co-workers, and just add the line to get the phone like I did but never use it. He said he'll talk on and use the PPC, but will keep his other phone for emergencies or if the PPC dies and needs to go back. There are alot of options, its just a matter of how far you are willing to go to get one (legally of course).

I'm really regretting not doing a little research before paying $450 for this at the Sprint store - I almost always do but buying this was spur of the moment and I just HAD to have it right then, I'm sure you all know how that goes...

My 14 days are up tomorrow and I paid quite a bit more than that. I'm planning on cancelling the contract I have and starting over again if I can get the phone for a lot less. I've been trying all day calling (800) Sprint1 and they always say the only promotion is for $499 - $50 service credit. They claim there is no way possible to get the phone for any less through Telesales. I've even spoken to managers and have called about 6 times. I'm guessing someone made a mistake. Can you provide any more info on how you obtained that price?

I was recently in a Sprint store and was given a business card. Could I use that e-mail address for the SERO? Those are some great plans.
