TomTom: Store voices on card? How to let TomTom dynamically change state maps??

Pda Friends,

I just recently installed TomTom on my pocket pc and so far its a awesome GPS software program hands down!

I noticed that TomTom default voices are stored locally on the pocket pc. Would there be anyway to store the voices on the SD card and to save space on the ppc?

Also, I am still learning TomTom and have the USA/Canada maps. How does TomTom know if travel to another state, How do I setup navigation into other states? So far I only see the ability to use one map at a time. I must be missing something.

Please advise and thank you!

Tvos

Without having used the software at all, I'd take a look in the registry for paths to the voice files. Just a hunch.

In TomTom there is an option to "change maps" where you would pick a different map if you are in a state not currently covered by the map you are using.

I found out the hard way that tomtom will not switch maps automatically as you travel. Nor can you plan a route through different states unless you install a region map (multiple states combined for you). When I went to the state of Georgia for holiday I loaded Georgia, South Carolina and Florida state Maps. I thought I would be able to plan a route from Georgia to South Carolina but could not. I had to plan a route from Georgia to the border and then switch maps and plan my route from South Carolina.

After the trip I learned that If I would have installed the south east region map I would have had those states and could have planed a route to anywhere within them.

I'm not sure if there is a map that includes Canada and US in one region. Check the CD to see what is available.
