There is rumor of a new version of MS Voice command thats designed for WM5 that brings twice as many features, I dont know the validity of these rumors but thats why i am asking the forum. Is there any new info or more valid rumors thats floating around, I figure it has to be soon, since the last version is over a year old and it was designed for wm2003, so the new version has to be on the way

The people I've spoken to who have any connections at all to MS say they don't know for sure but the most important one - VC through a bluetooth headset still isn't in the works for the next release.
Yeah the only reason it works now is due to installing another program (which is unlicensed for those who care about that kind of thing) and "shoehorning" MS Voice Command into its link to the BT headset. It's got several glitches and is far from a perfect solution to this problem.
Considering that all WM5 devices so far are using Microsoft's own BT stack, MS really has no remaining excuse not to officially implement this functionality into Voice Command.
the way my BT works now is i push the BT button and then the VC button on the phone... and then i can say/hear everything via the BT headset.
That is using the VC software and regular verizon 6700 phone... no hacking. but i think you don't even want to push the VC button on the phone.... so i guess i can't do that.

I've tried this numerous times with my finger over the microphone, and in each case, with names that could be fairly easily confused, the recognition was 100% accurate.
Seems to deflate the argument that the reason this is not possible is the poor audio quality of the Bluetooth headset.
All that is needed is a way to have the MFB on the headset activate the program. This makes me a little more optimistic that this feature will soon be made available.
I hadn't had any issues with MS VC 1.5 for since I got my 6700 in November but it has just started acting up on my (I have not installed any software in the last month). A couple of days ago it started happening. Whenver I attempt to call a contact instead of calling it, it shows the contact with whatever number of numbers they have. It no longer understand the call command - it thinks it is a show command. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling VC but this is a bug I hadn't encountered before - surprising since I've made no changes to my system in the last month other than a PRL update(which in no way should have anything to do with VC in my opinion)
Boe: What are your volume settings? I thought I was getting the same kind of error. Then I figured out it was "user error." I get this behavior when my external speaker volume is set to low or off or vibrate. MSVC is actually displaying what it thinks you said to dial, but repeating it to you asking for confirmation (only you can't hear it because the volume is low or off).
Try this: tell it to call a contact at a particular location (e.g. "Call JL mobile") and when it 'shows' you that contact's list of available numbers say "yes" or "correct" and see what it does. If it's the same behavior I get, it will actuall launch the dialer and call that person.
Also, if you turn up your volume before using MSVC (hold left side rocker up til it maxes out) and try it again you should hear it repeat what (it thinks) you said and then you can say "yes" or "correct" and it will dial as above.
Hope this helps. If it doesn't, then I'm as baffled as you.
I've tried a few volume settings. It says show 'name' two (three) numbers found. THen ask dial 'name' at home - if I said dial 'name' at home. So it will let me place the call but it is frustrating it doesn't dial without the show step.
OK, try this. Start\Settings\Voice Command then select the Phone row (make sure it's still checked) and click on the options button. Then DESELECT the "Confirm when calling by name" box.

Boe,
You might want to try adjusting MSVC setings so that it only controls the phone app. Uncheck Medai player, calendar, contacts, etc. EXCEPT for "phone" in the MSVC settings screen.
