Bluetooth DUN freezes up after 3-5 minutes, please help
Let me preface this by saying that this forum is awesome and I have learned a ton about this phone in the past couple months. That being said...I used the info in the lengthy bluetooth/USB DUN thread above to connect my laptop via USB to the 6700 (EVDO). This works perfectly and amazingly fast. However, the bluetooth teathering is not working well at all. I am able to connect via bluetooth by opening Wmodem selecting "connection type= Bluetooth". Then on my laptop, I simply click the "settings" - "network connections" - "bluetooth connection". I right-click on "bluetooth connection" and hit connect and it connects fine, but after about 3-5 mins my sreaming radio station/regular web pages "times out" and my phone freezes-up in the Wmodem screen. My laptop does not have built-in bluetooth and I am using a kensington bluetooth adapter that I got from woot.com. I don't think that the adapter is malfunctioning since the bluetooth managers still sees my 6700 even when the internet times out. I'm going crazy trying to fix this so any help would be awesome. Thanks
Aaron

Hi Aairman, i've actually read your post 3 times already. I am also amazed at no replies.
I have a Dell laptop with built-in bluetooth, paired with VX6700.
I've only used it once so far for about 5 minutes, light browsing and Instant Messaging, with no issues.
I will try to test this out more extensively tonight.

Sprint's press release for the PPC-6700 stated that bluetooth tethering was not supported in the initial release of the phone. I don't know about Verizon's position on this, but there has been some discussion about this in the past and I think it had to do with some limitation in the Microsoft bluetooth drivers that is suppose to be fixed in a future upgrade.
Although some people have had some success with bluetooth tethering, most of us don't choose to spend time trying to make something work that has been explicitedly advertised as unsupported. And there is a sticky thread already established for those that want to try, so it would be best to post there if you want assistance.
Here's a link to the official Sprint press release for the PPC-6700:
Thanks for the info. I thought that bluetooth teathering was something that everyone was able to do easily, but I guess I'm not the only one having problems. The USB teathering works awesome, so I guess I can't complain too much. Hopefully, the (official) bluetooth teathering will be available soon.
