how do I keep 6700 from making calls on its own??

I have the Parrot 3100 bluetooth in my car. While listening to Bob and Sherry on radio, it suddenly muted. I thought I was recieving an incoming call. No I was the one making a call from my holster.
I've seen many in this forum with this issue but no definitive fix.
I also took a picture of the inside of my phone case while turning right onto a highway.
It's funny now but will soon get annoying.

The only solution I found, and I tried a LOT of cases, is the Seidio clip/holster. All soft cases will eventually press against the buttons, especially the joystick button. Also if you have a BT headset in a soft belt case, its button can get pressed. Mine happens to hit the seat belt often.

So is there no hack to disable all but one button which needs to be hit twice or something?
I just recieved a new case from extreme pda and as soon as I put the phone in the case...it turns on.
In the case which the phone came with, it doesn't happen all the time.
I think I read where some magnets can do this.
It seems this is whats turning mine on too.
Even if I touch this case to the BACK of my phone, it turns on.
Even if there is a solution to the phone turning on, I wonder what the magnet is doing to the phone itself?
Could it harm the processor????

What you want to look in to is something call MortSaver. I use it for exactly that. You have to hit the power button and then one other button (that you specify) to get back in to the phone. Works great for me.

What about bluetooth or Voice Command?

The best solution I found is to password protect the phone and set it to zero minutes. My 6700 made calls even with MortSaver installed. MortSaver seemed to work until the phone woke up by itself. In that case MS would deactivate for some reason.

Why is it that the OS "button lock" sub program doesn't work for you guys?

Not trying to be a putz, but honestly, I use it and have no problems. Am I missing something here or are you missing something?

I've tried the button lock, and I will purposely try to make it come on and can't, but then after a car ride I check my phone and the damn thing is on or made a call. I think it has to do with the phone waking up by itself.

Either way I can't take a chance because my 6700 is used for my business, and accidentally calling a client over and over would make me look just a bit stupid, so that's why I went with the password option.

I can understand the issues of not wanting to call a client over and over. That would be a bummer.

What could be waking the handset up? Do you have scheduled pulls for email, etc? If so that's the difference with my handset. I have nothing scheduled and only incoming calls or messages could wake my handset up.

Thanks for the clarification. Just thought I was an aberration or something.

I have tried using the OS "button lock" feature as well and have not been able to get it to work. I enable the option under "settings... buttons" called "Lock all buttons except Power Button" but when I turn the phone off, all of the buttons and screen taps are active. Am I not turning the phone "off" correctly? I am pushing the power button on top of phone until screen goes blank.. is there something else I need to do in order to turn the phone "off"?

Thanks

Are you actually holding down the top button until the screen goes blank? That does not turn the phone off...it just turns off your backlight...to turn off the phone, you just need to press the button

My whole deal is not to have my phone making calls or voice record or whatever while in my holster.
Last night I was driving home talking on my bluetooth car kit when I turned a corner and hung up on my wife.
I redialed and it did it again.
Finally I put the phone on the seat and no problem.
I am using the case which came with the phone. I recieved a nice cas but it turns the phone on with the magnet.
I don't care what I have to do or if is freeware or not...I need my phone to stay off, be able to recieve bluetooth calls and not voice rdcord while in my case.
I have had 4 people tell me that I have called them.
This morning I was sitting at my shop computer when my shop phone rang. I looked at the caller id and you guessed it...it was from my 6700.
FRUSTRATING!!!!!

I have nothing setup that would turn it on. I am almost positive it's due to the Sprint network, or other electronic interference because on my drive home, I can tell you pretty much the exact locations when it will turn itself on. It's the same spots everyday.

I tried the zero minutes deal. But when inserting in my case, sometimes I must be pushing the flight mode button and then no phone.
This is a design flaw in my book to have the flight mode on the same as power.

That bites. I haven't had this problem with the VZW handset. You're not using SPCS Business Connection are you? Haven't heard anything good about this since my Treo 600 days. Worked well on that handset.

Good Luck,

I dialed my wife while it was in my case on my belt. This is why I am searching for a hard case where the phone stay in the case.

I had the problem where the phone would dial numbers when it was in my pocket, dialed the same client ten times in a two hour period. Not good. Don't know what profanities I was yelling at my employees!! J/K Have now the auto password on which has solved that problem unless it dials before the lock is activated.

BUT, yesterday, while looking for a number on the call log, I noticed there were 30 calls dailed out to the same number starting around 1:30am when I was dead asleep and the 6700 on my desk. the call log numbers didn't even look the same as if I dailed it, no parenthesis around the area code and no dash that breaks up the seven digits. I took the phone into Sprint and they immediatly exchanged it. Now I have a new 6700 with the ugly new logo on!!

I have had 6700 for a couple of months now and my overall impression of it is unfavorable. Very buggy and slow, maybe it's the new operating system. But for the phone itself, the size, I thought I would get used to it but have not. It is a brick that always seems to slide apart when taking it out.

I am hoping that i just had a bad phone and this new one will work a lot better!! And I'll have to live with the size!
