(for the short version, it works, go to the end for instructions)
Hey everyone
I just got re-introduced to live365.com through my tivo (which now has a client on tivo...very swank)
I hopped online via PIE and apparently they are frames heavy...using more than 10 frames which PIE freaks out about.
I vaguely recall back when I had an active live365 account it was possible to get the streams over into itunes...so it's probably also possible to do that for wmplayer or tcmp or something.
Any ideas? Maybe someone with thunderhawk, opera, or minimo installed could test it on that OS to find the streams?

with much effort I can get the individual frames areas to load up (most of them anyway) and display in PIE by refreshing certain frames one at a time and adjusting sizes to show / hide certain areas. maybe the others can be similarly revealed....but I think the key is in the streams themselves
possibly someone could write a small vb app to get their track data and then send to wmp / tcmp...live365 shouldn't care since they bounce ads into the stream anyway.

Not Found 404 The page you requested was not found. Check to see if the link was typed correctly. If you came from another Live365.com page, please notify support. Otherwise, use your Back button and try another link.
Unfortunately, it looks like they've taken steps _backwards_ over the last few years, although they clearly have the technology and with EVDO, i'd imagine a ready market.
I'm downloading RealPlayer (since live365 has always liked working in that) and I'm going to see if I can find the playlist info. The latest RealPlayer beta apparently supports video btw. It's huge however, 1.5 mb in the download...will see how big it is on the device and report back.
1. Visit www.live365.com on your PC.
2. Find a stream that you would like to listen to and follow the prompts to begin listening.
3. When the music begins playing, save the current playlist as an M3U file.
4. Copy the M3U file to your Palm using the Palm Install Tool or a card reader.
5. Go to the playlists screen in Pocket Tunes and choose the M3U file.
Looks like it might be possible to set up a playlist of sorts from a file on the PPC...I'm guessing that TCMP can launch m3u's
TCPMP can load the .m3u stream, but it doesn't like the file. I get the hunch that it requires registration to load the streamed files...opening up the .pls or .m3u streams shows a bunch of cookie info like uid, visits, bitrate, etc
Yes gsplayer works very well, I use it with live365/shoutcast and dogglounge all the time.

I got the 6700 to stream shoutcast stations by entering the URL info found on Realplayer's "Clip info" section on my pc in the File/Open URL section in the GSplayer. I tried to do the same with live365 and have had no luck as of yet. Live365 connects with their "operator" saying "65... please log in with your live365 account to continue listening..." which I had done with Netfront's browser. I was not able to save the Live365 stations that play on Realplayer (ver 10.5) in the M3U format since I may not have the permium version of Realplayer. Any suggestions?
Also, anyone able to get wwitv.com working with any of the video players?
in my experience, once you're logged in with your information, you get a different stream with authenitication as part of the stream details in the .pls / .m3u datafile. Alternately, for their public ones, perhaps you're trying to get a premuim or vip only stream.
my bet is that the stream you saved isn't an authenitcated one, or (i've had this happen too) the authentication has expired.
First of all, thanks for the very quick response and the info you previously provided on this thread. As far as authentication is concerned, I tried a few stations on live365 and neither of them worked. Here's one that I tried that didn't work: http://www.live365.com/play/310014?
I'm not sure if that link is "authenticated" as you say. Do you know how to convert that URL to a .pls or a .m3u file?
One thing I should add is that station used to work flawlessly on my live365 player or the Radio365 quick launch program. I recently noticed that it didn't come up on the quick launch, but I got around that by logging in my live365 account and launching it from there and getting it to run on Realplayer. Hopefully you have a fix to get this station to run on the 6700.
Here's the trouble with Live365 streams -- every time you log off their system, then log back in, you are given a new session ID. Then, all your old streams (.pls files, etc) won't work any more. There is a workaround, but it is a bit of a pain. It helps if you keep all your .pls files in one folder so it goes faster.
- Log into Live365, and download a new playlist.
- Open that playlist in a text file. You will see tons of info in there. Near the end, you will see something like this, "session=70Yk0O00YewB6". That is your new session ID.
- Cut and paste that session ID into all your old playlist files, replacing your old session ID. Now they will work again!
Sounds like a pain, but it is actually much much faster than downloading all your playlist files again. I can refresh all my Live365 playlists in about 2 minutes, then I copy them back onto my PPC. Maybe someone smarter than me could even write a program to do this automatically...
It's really very annoying of them to suddenly start requiring these authenticated streams. It was working just fine about a week ago with GSPlayer, and now they've suddenly screwed everyone using a mobile device.
I tried the previous suggestions to no avail. DrWowe or anyone figure out a workaround for Live365?
Shoutcast has been working fine, albeit you have to go the long way to get it to stream on GSplayer. I wish there was a quick desktop 1-click way to get the streams to run. Maybe one of the other browsers do the trick?
Thanks for that link Zoombie. I had seen that posted before. It may be a good idea to have a "streamer" sticky. One for music and one for videos. In any case, the link you provided has lots of streams to choose from, but I'm more interested in the variety that live365 has to offer. I used to be a "broadcaster" there and besides listening to my own uploaded mp3, I also had a ton of presets to choose from.
Hmm I have some Live 365 playlists that I made over a year ago that work fine in tcpmp and gsplayer. I do have a few that stopped working but the majority of them work fine.

I updated all my desktop players and was able to find a full URL that contained the "session id" info and converted it to a playlist file. Thanks to all for the help.
