It is cheap but not worth it. Mapopolis is cheap. Their app is free and the entire USA maps are $99 or you can buy less. But it works and has very good active guidance. MS has none.

I listen to internet radio (KROQ) over my Flamingo BT headset while my GPSlim provides data from 12 out of 20 satellites for my iGuidance 2.1.3.2 (patched) Navigation in Malibu where radio signals are just not politically correct. The audio gateway plays both audio streams at the same time. This is particularly helpful in my Porsche as I can keep the local law enforcement at bay with the iGuidance beeps letting me know that I'm over the radar speed threshold.

There will be no clear winner, for two reasons. One obvious reason is that everyone has a different opinion. The other is that some GPS programs work better for particular usage styles or needs than others, and that varies by user.
Right now I'd take either TomTom or iGuidance and be very happy either way. I'd sooner use paper maps than the Pharos product.

Can you also hear the iGuidance navigation instructions while in a phone call? if so, how did you get that to work?

Yes, with the audio gateway active via my bluetooth headset. The call, however, interrupts the internet radio which resumes after the call is complete.

Everyone is suggesting GPS on their own experience. Being a user of a tradition in car GPS, I can tell you that dont think of ny thing other than tomtom navigator 5.21 and any SIRF III chip GPS reciever.
You can get the chepaest solution ever. Trust me on this. This will be the best. I keep my BT GPS in the glove compartment. Still get all 32 satelite. Dead on Accurate.
Sound comes out really loud as well. So dont buy a powered arkon mount. I also got free arkon mount which works perfect.
You've heard the term WAAS, seen it on packaging and ads for Garmin® products, and maybe even know it stands for Wide Area Augmentation System. Okay, so what the heck is it? Basically, it's a system of satellites and ground stations that provide GPS signal corrections, giving you even better position accuracy. How much better? Try an average of up to five times better. A WAAS-capable receiver can give you a position accuracy of better than three meters 95 percent of the time. And you don't have to purchase additional receiving equipment or pay service fees to utilize WAAS.

WAAS... depending on what chipset you are using. for the SirF chipset WAAS help a little bit
but the nemerix chipset beat the Sirf chipset handdown(accuracy wise) without WAAS
(nemerix chipset do worse with WAAS on compare to with WAAS off, but still beat SirF chipset)
