Mobile word-insuffient memory to save document

Coming from a 8MB palm phone I am surprized at how bad this improved smartphone is. But I am determined to make it better.

I can't save a word document, it says insuffient memory to save document.

This is ridiculus. the file is about 27K and I look at the settings->system->memory and it shows

storage
total 43.50 MB corrected typo
in Use 13.79MB
Free 29.71MB

Program
total 49.42MB
In use 17.82 MB
Free 31.60 MB

Nothing is running except mobile word
I assume what the memory screen doesn't display is ram and instead is displaying ROM?

why is your total storage showing 13.79 MB. Shouldn't it be 43.5 MB or around there?

I just had that happen to day for the first time. It's just a glitch. I just copy any new text, closed word then reopen it. Then I just pasted the copied text back in. I then worked fine. Was strange though.

I saved to card and it was only 13K leaveing the original in the previous state(before the last editing session). It is stil there, is 31K in size and takes minutes to load. Comical, tragic, and amazing that windows managed to port there bug philosophy to a new platform. I have 30 meg free in program and storage areas, go figure. I am working on another project, but I think this device is gonna see a different OS soon

i had the same problem last night...i have like 20 megs from on storage and 20 megs free in system memory...and plenty on my SD card...wrote a long document on Word and tried to save - couldn't save to either main memory or storage memory - said insufficient space?

what's going on here?

Some kind of file length corruption

I think it has some kind of corruption where the end of file is infinite spaces. This would explain long load, loss of ram and inability to save, Something stupid like choosing short int not long int and wrapping the size pointer around? I am totally speculating, can't debug propritery code.

sounds like a good hypothesis - i suppose if that's the case, only a rom update will save us.

how annoying.
