wifi + phone? where's superdave

Sooooo... has anyone bought Superdave one of these 6700s yet?

I wanna use wifi and still have the phone radio on. Has anyone tried the steps from the Samsung i730 forum on the 6700??

why don't you try his method and let us know if it works? since you're one of the early lucky ones to get the phone..

I'm sure its just going to take looking at sprint's files to get it to work properly.....it was more difficult on the I730 since there isn't another competing phone to grab files from.....I'm sure it will be a simple process.

if you havent done much customization to it..why dont you try doing a hard reset, and before it starts installing the custom software, do a soft reset.

Then check to see if the phone and wifi work together. its possible that one of the customization cabs that verizon has the phone install is what is preventing it. If this is the case, start installing the cabs one by one, checking the functionality after each.

you should be able to pinpoint which one causes this and next time not install it

Send a message via ICQ to Blu3Fr0g Send a message via AIM to Blu3Fr0g Send a message via Yahoo to Blu3Fr0g

Ok, wont that add unnecessary battery drain? Is your reason for doing this because your using the wireless during the conversation to look up information?

currently it means that if you have wifi on, your phone is off. so you would not be able to receive phone calls during the time you are browing on wifi (or know that you've missed any calls).

but yes, it would drain more power using both at once

Yes, when I get a phone with built-in WiFi, it will stay off most of the time, but it's nice to turn it on when you need it and still be able to recieve voice calls, text messages, etc, etc...
