This is the kind of stuff that makes Verizon so great. They've obviously worked with the phone a lot as opposed to Sprint from the Sprint CS horror stories I've heard.
After three additional months to prepare (Sprint released the PPC-6700 to business back in September), I hope that Verizon has more to offer than an animated version of what's in the instruction manual.
My boss's Verizon account for her i730 with 900 anytime minutes and unlimited data costs about $90 per month with a 15% government discount, and my personal Sprint account costs about the same with a similar 15% discount applied for 1100 anytime minutes shared between 4 phones, three of which include unlimited data, including my PPC-6700. I could add the Vision plan to fourth line (which currently has a non-Vision phone) for another $5 per month minus the 15% discount.
For the additional monies they collect, hopefully Verizon will have a data group similar to Sprint's that supports the phone and we can start to get some useful information on this forum from them. My concern would be that with the i730, 700w, XV6700 and alll the legacy PPC devices, how much will Verizon focus on the XV6700, especially when it is less expensive than both the i730 and the 700w?
Time will tell, but we Sprint PPC-6700 users definitely welcome the Verizon XV6700 users and look forward to any contributions you can make to these forums.
that verizon instruction of the 6700 is unbelievable for the new user. Sprint would never do that, I had to learn how to work the device through this forum
man, verizon has their stuff together. great demonstration. I've used sprint's website for... well... um... to see what phones they offer.
I learned through this forum as well. But one thing I just learned in browsing through that tutorial. You can end a web browsing session by holding down the end button.
Wait... I just tried that, and it turns off the web browsing session but that's because it turns off the phone and all connectivity. The web browsing session turns off after x amount of seconds of inactivity, right? Did they mess up in their instructions? Nontheless, useful tutorial.
