Wi-Fi Performance Seems Poor
I had an opportunity to squat on a bar's Wi-Fi network for a couple hours tonight and directly compare the performance of a K-Jam and my 6700. I tried my 6700 with the CDMA radio both on and off--didn't change the results. The K-Jam seems to disable its GPRS connection when it connects via Wi-Fi.
In short, the K-Jam was consistently over twice as fast as the 6700 on the 600kb bbr speed test. I ran at least ten tests with each device. The K-Jam always did 650-800kbps, while my 6700 was 300-400kbps, with one test at a bit over 600kbps (which was definitely an aberration).
I confirmed that both PPC's had similar settings, including the "Power Save Mode" (best performance vs. best battery). Anybody have thoughts on this? I'm perplexed.
EDIT: I should add that the K-Jam indicated a bit under 50% signal strength, while the 6700 indicated a bit over. So that doesn't mean boo...
