Unhappy Need help with 6700 and Pocket Access database synchronization conduit

I just got a Sprint PPC-6700 as my new phone/PDA to replace my Nokia phone and Ipaq PDA.

The primary app that I use is a time/expense tracking program that syncs with Quickbooks for my consulting company. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Microsoft has decided to drop the Pocket Access database synchronization conduit (a critical synchronization component) with the introduction of Windows Mobile 5.0 and ActiveSync 4.0, it is currently not possible to establish a synchronization link across the desktop and mobile versions of the time tracking software.

The software is fully operational with ActiveSync 4.0 and Windows Mobile 2003/SE PDA (and earlier) devices. The problem affects Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA devices only, regardless of the version of ActiveSync used.

Can anyone recommend a solution?

Thanks!

Yep, same program. I'm useing the one that sync's with QuickBooks because it was easier and now I'm stuck having to export from the palm as a csv, import into the desktop version, and then sync. And to make it worse, TimeTracker seems to be having problems with the drop downs on WM5.

I've looked at these two:The one that I'm really considering is the one in the hyperlink in the bottom left corner of the page; the 6-In-1 WiFi Time Tracking package.

Both are WM5 compatible. I've only been using TimeTracker for a couple of months and was just about to purchase it when I got this 6700, now I'm glat I didn't. Have you heard anything from TimeTracker?

What do you do? I'm a one man IT shop trying to get enough business so that I can hire a couple other people. I don't even use most of the features of TimeTracker but I like the fact that they are there for when I want to.

Hi David,

Sounds like we're in exactly the same boat and same business. I have been using TimeTracker MX Quickbooks edition for a couple years. I also dont use many of the features. Its just an easy to use time entry program that imports directly into Quickbooks.

Before I settled on TimeTracker I tried a bunch of other packages and found most of them too cumbersome for what I need. So I'm now back in the hunt for something that will work since it sounds like RFCons has no interest in making there product work on WM5.

I'll check out the tools you mentioned, have you looked at them yet? There were a couple things I ran into awhile back that looked interesting, I'll see if I can dig those up.

I'm in the same business here. One man IT busy as hell, but not quite enough to hire more people full time. So I need to get busier to hire people so I can take time off!

Not sure if anyone is interested, but the guys who make TimeTTracker have released a beta version that is supposed to be compatible with WM5.

Find it here if interested:
