All I want for Christmas is my 6700 to sync!

Ok, I'm on week 6 (I'm sure you guys are sick of hearing from me)and I cannot get this darn thing to sync over the air with my 2003 Exchange Server.

It's not brain surgery - the certs are installed on my device, all settings are correct, but I keep getting the following message:

"Your account in Microsoft Exchange server does not have permission to sync with your current settings"

Support Code 0x85010004

Any suggestions? Anyone? Please????????????????

I bet this is a new WM5 problem. Why do I always hop on the bandwagon of new products to be the beta site when the do not work???

I already have a thread with the fix (that I posted last night). Do a search for the error code or my username and you'll find it.

Good luck.

Don't I wish! You are referring to error message 85010014. I am experiencing error message 85010004. Totally different. But thanks anyway.

Are you sure your Active Directory userid has permission to do OTA Sync? Has it ever worked? Check the Exchange features tab on your account. Does it look like the picture?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm pretty sure, but to play it safe, I just forwarded your suggestion to our admin.

Same problems

I had to upgrade my Active Sync Client to the 4.1 version. Don't ask me why, but it worked.

At first I went into IIS on the Exchange server and had to make changes, which worked, but ending up causing problems with OWA.

Try the ActiveSync upgrade and see if that helps, if not, here's the link to the IIS changes:

Angry 85010004

Okay, so a co-worker and myself have both bought the new ppc 6700. We both have full admin rights on the exchange 2003 SBS server. After bringing all the certs over etc. etc etc. my account gets the 85010004 error. His account however works fine. We have added his credentials to my phone and it works on either phone. This to me tells me that exchange and the phones are working properly. It seems to be the AD Accounts. so I backed up my email and deleted my account and email address. I created a new account with email address. This new account is getting the same error. I tried again with my co-workers account and everything worked on my phone.

I also created a second account that was copied from my co-workers. Still with the same error.

ANY IDEAS ... This one is driving me crazy!!!!!

I am giving up on this and going to the Sprint store tomorrow and going back to my trusty old Treo 650. This sucks!

85010004

Okay so I solved the issue. 1 out of 2 things changed on the exchange end helped with this.

1) Went into IIS Manager on the exchange server and checked the host headers for the default website (most likley your OWA Site) ... I had a few different host headers for the site labled. I added one more and left the URL Bland and to point to port 80.

2) Went into exchange system manager and then to Outlook Mobile access...right clicked on the item and choose properties...somewhere in there Is to force a password policy. I UNCHECKED this item and applied the settings...

After these changes I restarted IISAdmin Service and also Exchange services....Manual sync .. (WITHOUT ACTIVE SYNC) worked fine all seems to be working great now.

Hope this helps.
