How do I use the 6700 without data service

I don't plan to use the Vision or EVDo etc on the 6700. I did not take the rebate (was not qualified on existing line) and hence am not required to pay for the data services. I know I wil be missing out on the web features etc. But welll...

What I want to know is

1. How do I stop my browser from trying to start the Vision when I turn it on.

2. Seems like 6700 wakes up every so often to look for something (probably Vision etc.) how do I stop it from trying to connect

3. Is there anything else I should be aware of ?, so that I am not slammed with amy kind of extra 'data' bills ?

Thanks

I am bumping my own thread.

What I am trying to achieve is making sure that I don't get charged for the Data/Vision when I don't use them at all.

Go to Start->Settings->Connections tab->Tap Connections icon->Manage existing connections->Hold down stylus on "Sprint PCS Vision" and choose Delete.

Voila.

I have to ask -- what led you to select this device if you have no intention of using data services?

I am used to Pocket PC devices - been using for last 7 years. And didn't like carrying two devices - PDA and Phone.

I am not too interested in browsing on the go at the moment
