Earthmate's Blue Logger Help

I can't seem to get it to connect with the 6700. The 6700 recognizes it, but the GPS receiver continues to blink indicating there's no connection.

Earthmate's tech support is saying that the problem is with Windows Mobile, but I remember someone in this forum saying that he owns the blue logger and it works fine.

Anyone have any tips on what I may be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.

I don't remember the specifics, but you need to set up a serial port for it after pairing. I used COM0 and it works great with my Blue Logger and Mapopolis.

I'm using Street Atlas 2006.

I just created a new partnership with the blue logger, checked the serial connection box and selected com port 0. I still can't get the two devices to connect. The blinking blue light on the receiver indicates no connection and I can't connect using my GPS software either.

Also, I noticed the green and blue lights start blinking after I attempt to make a connection. Any idea what that's about?

Thanks again for your input.

Did you select the com port in the mapping software? Try different ports...

Yeah, the mapping software only allows me to connect on com3. but the bluetooth settings on the phone only allow com0 and com1. I've got an e-mail into Earthmate asking how to change port selection in the software.

I just downloaded a trial version of Mapopolis. I'm giving that a try now.

Didn't want to pick on SA06, but you'll see just how much better Mapopolis is

Yeah, Street Atlas is the problem. Mapopolis connected with no problems and it seems much more intuitive than SA. Unfortunately, I don't feel like going out right now so I'll have to wait til morning to test it on the road.

I did notice one drawback with Mapopolis. Buying the individual city maps can get pretty expensive. Have you heard of any applications with maps included or that offer state or US maps at a reasonable price?

Thanks again for all your help.

I like Mapopolis so much I just subscribed and downloaded the whole USA. Most decent packages are about $100 for the whole country, but I think Mapopolis is the best. I hear they're working on "flyover" 3D maps right now, though I don't really see the point.
