Dictionary

Where is the dictionary file located on the 6700.

I found a file named myword.dct but it was 0 bytes.

Also if we find the file, is there a way to add words to it so it will reconize them when we type them in.

I don't know, but I do appreciate the irony of misspelling dictionary .

still looking

I did several searchs on the web and with no luck. When i talked to the tech support at Audiovox they didnt seem to understand or acknowledge that there even was a dictionary in the phone. Of course MS was no help.

Looks like we need a way to find the file and then an editor for it. Hopefully someone will create a 3rd party app to locate, open and edit the file.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

anyone

Anyone find out anything on this. I have searched several web sites and even MS and no luck.... there has to be a way to add words.

Consider a doctor with prescriptions, lawyer with legal words,.... this would not make any sense to not be able to append to the file.

text editor

Correct, we need some type of text editor to add the words....

Sounds like a good 3rd party app.

Now that a bunch of us have xv6700s, maybe we'll find some more ideas.

Having additional words in the dict for auto-type would be great for any kind of text input including web logins.

Mine somewhat seems to have 'learned' a word that I wouldn't think would be in the dictionary, but I could be wrong. If you type lin is one of your options line1?

Pretty sure this is what you're looking for. The author's home page states it is WM5 compatible, and it's pretty cheap at $8. It is the only existing app I know of that can edit that database.
