Can the 6700 view Windows Media content on websites?

Can PIE view windows media on a website? Say you are on a website and there is a link that says click here to view video clip, and its in .wma or .wmv or .avi format. Is there a way to make WMP10 open and play the clip?

Well since 48 views and noone cared to reply to my previous question, I have another;

How come files that play on my WMP10 on my desktop, dont play on the PPC? I have a few XVID videos that play fine on the desktop but not at all on my PPC, why is this?

I've never seen the ppc windows media player try to download codecs to play things such as xvids or svcds, etc... a lot of the times on the pc you will get some kind of video file when you try to play it you will see WMP try to download codecs... I'm guessing the mobile version will not do that. Just my guess.

http://www.harmonysquare.net/walkthru.htm

Tested PIE on a file that is embedded old school into the homepage @

http://www.harmonysquare.net/walkthru.htm

Video file is embedded, and does not load.

Haven't tried to load the video file directly, will try soon.

The other question you had is probably a codec issue...your PC has a Codec that the PPC doesnt (that would be my guess)

there's another media player:

TCPMP (by core) which I haven't tested thorougly but seems to get great reviews on the forums here.

Good luck,

Good luck,
I've tested it. It is capable of doing the job.

As for embedded files, it's just easier to see if you can download them to the phone. Embedded files tend to cause problems.

I had issues with tcpmp. when I tried to play mpeg4 it said that they took out the aac audio codec in order of "Intellectual Property Consideration". What the heck does this mean? Sorry, we're not gonna let you view the mpeg4 you created from your purchased dvd because some people might be stealing mpeg4 videos?
