Make Activesync disconnect?

Is there a reg hack to make activesync disconnect the evdo data session once it has finished sync'ing with the exchange server?
Instead of the connection going idle and staying that way, eats my battery..

Same for other apps I have i.e. weather bar, RSS reader, I would like the connection to disconnect after idle..

Also is there a way to hide the #777 connection bubble which shows when it dials the data connection?

thanks
Jai

You only posted your question 2.5 hours ago... Give it time man..

And on a side note, did you try searching? While i'm not positive it's been covered, there is a good chance that it has.

Yep did a search..

When I do an update from WeatherPanel it seems to disconnect shortly after...

I looked at the reg keys for activesync,
under HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Activesync
there is a 'DisconnectWhenDone' Dword value of 1

I changed it to '0' but doesnt seem to make a difference...

the dword value is in Decimal for the 'DisconnectWhenDone' activesync registry setting. Mine by default is set to '1'

I presume that this is not the same a binary value, i.e. 0 = disconnect, 1 = stay connected.
And the right value will have to be found?
