"Problem with bluetooth hardware" error

I've had my phone for about a month now, and have been using my HS850 bluetooth headset the whole time. Up until about an hour ago, it worked fine, but trying to use it just then, I couldn't get it to connect to the phone to answer the call. I figured I just accidently turned off bluetooth, and when I got done with the call, tried to turn it back on. As many times as I tried, it the bluetooth button would switch to on, but didn't work. I tried to change it via the bluetooth settings tab as well, and checking the box and closing the window would not turn it back on at all. So I deleted the HS850 from the list thinking maybe it was the headset and I'd reinstall it. Well, after searching for it for about a minute, the phone puts up a message saying "Error- Problem with bluetooth hardware"

Is it possible the bluetooth radio just burnt itself out? It's always been a little staticky, but this is my first bluetooth device, so I figured that was normal. Anyone else had this problem or know what I could do to fix it?
Jon

did you try doing a soft reset? if you have another bluetooth device, you may want to see if that is functioning properly (ie if it is communicating with the 6700 over bluetooth as that will answer your BT radio question).
