I was in my local corporate store the other day buying an a900 and the manager saw my 6700 and initiated a conversation. He said that the 6700 was a very popular business phone and that the powers that be were very impressed with sales. Without any prompting from me he mentioned a "big" patch coming very soon, he specifically addressed what I think are the exchange server issues, although I personally am not familiar with this.
I did ask him about picture mail, and he seemed to think that this would be included in the patch, but I cannot say he was very definite about it.
Hopefully the Exchange server "issues" are the push e-mail bits. Along with that should come a major update to the bluetooth stack, adding the A2DP and AVRCP profiles for wireless stereo audio.
Here's hoping they just give us everything in one shot.
Well I hope that the reason it was pushed back was so that they could include the AKU 2.0 components (Exchange push and bluetooth stack updates). That's exactly what I would do if I were Sprint. Each ROM update they request from HTC costs money, so if they can hit two (or multiple) birds with one stone I'm guessing they will.
They probably keep trying to decide just how much to put in this update. You know, when you fix something, you usually break something else. In my new job as a QA Net. Eng, I've learned that its important to fix customer issues, but also not to "fix" too much at a time. Last thing they want if for everyone's working issues to stop working - just to fix others. And we're all running different configs, so even if they QA on 100 6700's, they are still bound to miss a lot of different user configs.
I'm sure they're on it - let's just be patient.

Incidentally, a few other "goodies" I think we can look forward to seeing:
1. Improved bluetooth car kit support (supporting phone number transfer for many kits)
2. Ability to poll all e-mail accounts (not just the currently selected one).
3. Ability to fully power off the device (though it will not be able to receive calls in this state).
Those three capabilities are all present in the HTC Wizard, which is running a post AKU 1.1 build of WM5 (the cutoff point is build 14402... we are at 14352). Taking us to the AKU 2.0 level should therefore include the AKU 1.1 improvements as well.
The only other released device with a pre-AKU 1.1 build of WM5 is the HTC Universal (which shares many of the 6700's quirks). Not coincidentally, these were the first two WM5 devices released.
I am guessing that the keyboard shift/alt indicator will be included as well, though I am not sure if it is a WM5 feature or a custom OEM (HTC) applet.
Before anyone asks, no I don't believe there exists a definitive changelog as to the fixes an improvements included in each AKU release. This has always been the case, even with prior Windows Mobile versions. For instance, Windows Media Player 10 was the big addition in an AKU release for WM2003SE, but there were other fixes included too (most notably the abilty to authenticate to an SMTP server with different credentials than your POP3 login). MS didn't disclose these other fixes--we had to figure them out for ourselves. It's kind of like an easter egg hunt.

Shadow, I PROMISE to provide more 'improvements' to you by this weekend (at your site). Maybe you can help shepherd some of these into the delayed release???

wouldn't it just be wonderful if we have a developer(s) or two working on the PPC software to browse these forums to see the fruits of their work???
