Unhappy Call Forwarding?

I've had my PPC-6700 for about 2 weeks and am less than impressed with the phone features. Today it started having a problem when I try to answer an incoming call it locks up, no buttons respond. I have to shut off and turn it back on or pull out the battery to get it working again. If anyone calls while it's in this state they get a busy signal. Anyway...... because I have phone issues, I'd like to be able to forward my Sprint number to a spare Nextel phone that I have. I've been unable to find anywhere in the phone or the manual how to call forward...... help...........

On your phone dial *72 followed by your forwarding number. Then press dial. Listen for a series of short tones. The phone will automatically disconnect the call when the forwarding completes. To cancel call forwarding press *720 then dial. listen for the short tones. Be advised that call forwarding on sprint cost 10 cents a minute in addition to your plan minutes. If your forwarding to a NExtel number Im not sure if this qualifies as Sprint to Sprint free minutes. You might want to ask Sprint C.C.
Hope this helps

Thanks so much.... how easy. I'm used to my old Nextel phone where you have to go to settings to forward.

Call Forwarding

Does anyone know of any software/settings to enable/disable call forwarding on the XV6700. I know other WM 5 smart phones have this feature.

Thanks for the help,
Bill

It is a service of the carrier, has nothing to do with phone settings.

Thanks for the reply. I was under the impression that some phones had the ability to activate the feature without having to go through the career's procedure of dialing a certain number, etc.

For the most part they are just shortcuts the the * numbers... Some phones have it others don't. I think it is up to the provider to request it be added to the phone. Most networks have very similar * features.
