Okay, this is weird. On the first 3 occassions that I set up Exchange ActiveSync the setup wizzard gave me an opportunity to enter an SMS number for automatic notification. Unfortunately, my vendor (Telus) charges 15 cents if an incoming message originated from anything other than another phone. Today, I found an SMS price plan with them that got me unlimited incoming SMS, regardless of source. So, now time to set it up again, but with SMS this time.... I delete my existing Exchange ActiveSync setup, soft reset and try to set up the account again. This time I DON'T get asked by the setup wizard about automatic notification via SMS. I still see the little link to set my peak times, but the link to setup automatic notification is now gone.
How can I fix this? Is there some sort of backdoor to this setup? Maybe my only option is to set it up from the server side?
If it makes a difference, the only thing that changed on my server between when I got this wizard, and when it stopped offering me the SMS option, was to add RPC over HTTP, but that shouldn't have done anything.... should it??
The first sync with a new partnership will do that. The option doesn't show until after you have disconnected the from activesync.

Ya, I just figured that out - but test mails sent to the Exchange server are not resulting in a sync at my phone. Do I need to do something at the Server to get this to work? On the 6700, I have it set to sync when new items arrive.
