Treo Applications

SORRY if this question has been asked before, but I tried searching it (on this website) and found no answers.

I am about to purchase the PPC 6700 (even though I'm thinking about it very hard because so many people are having trouble with how much and what they are paying for with Vision or Power Vision etc).

What I'm wondering is, since I'm switching from a Treo 600, is there a way to transfer all of my application from the treo? Anyone know a good converter, and if so does it really work on ALL typs of Treo apps, anyone tried a program like this??

Thank you.

Pretty sure nothing exists on the market. Plus, you generally would not want to 'port'/'convert' an application meant for one OS to another - not worth all the potential bugs created by the conversion. Best to build an application specifically for an OS. Trust me, there are so much more applications available for the Palm (and Treo specific as well) which I would have loved to take with me to the PPC world. choices over here are not as plentify (and as cheap) as in the Palm world.

A few of the apps I would have liked to take on my briefcase, for example, include:

TextPlusDB
Butler
KMaps

Think hard before you come over to Bill's world.

No - the Treo runs on Palm OS. The 6700 runs on Windows Mobile 5. The two systems are completely different, and you will not be able to run any of your Treo apps on the 6700.

The best you can hope for is a competitive crossgrade/sidegrade from the developer of the Treo software. They'll often have a WM version of the app that you can pay a small fee to get a copy of...

Thanx all.

WINGER TextPlusDB is not needed in the 6700 ppc. At least not the one I was using at the sprint store, because it had it's own word completer app.

and RUPPOK I'LL TRY IT THANX

Actually there is a fairly good Palm emulator for the Pocket PC - Windows Mobile platform. Take a look at StyleTap at http://www.styletap.com/

Not all Palm programmes seem to work but most stand alone programmes do seem to work - at least for me.

TextPlusDB is much more useful than the PPC's built in word completer app.

Two example:
1) PPC's won't let you add words or phrases
2) PPC's drop down list is limited to only 4

Ditto on what he said. BTW, does anyone know of a similar program for a PPC?
