Question Intranet Access

(Newbie Alert)

Though I believe I've searched for the appropriate threads, I have been unable to find an answer. Please forgive me if I've overlooked something.

Is there a way to access my companies internal hosted webpage? (http://servercomputer/internalpage.html) When I try this with my wifi connection on my network at my job, it tells me I can't access the page using that connection. The site is hosted on one of our computers inside our network and isn't accessible outside of that network.

I know there are programs that let you access network files, but what about network websites? I am currently using PIE to view websites.

Many thanks in advance-

~M~

Well, it depends. You may need to VPN into the network, if the subnet of the wireless is different from the subnet of the webpage

try this for us

on a desktop that can access the page
go to start, run, type in CMD and press enter

type
>ping servercomputer and note the ipaddress

try browsing to the page like this on the phone

where 192.168.0.1 is the IP you noted from the ping command.

That might work...

If you are using wifi on you companies lan you will need to setup your wifi profile to "work" if you wish to use netbios names. If you want to use dotted addresses(ip/fqdn) then leave it on internet.
