VPN Client and IP Addresses

I'm trying to get the VPN client working and I'm having a hard time. I am trying to log in to my Small Business Server. I do this from home and while on the road, and now I'm trying to get it working on the phone. I see where to go in and add a VPN connection, but then what? Also, if I want it to connect and stay connected, is that possible. When I click on connect, it doesn't give me an error, but I'm having some trouble getting my email working.

I'd like to be able to see what IP address I have been assigned. That would let me know that I got logged in successfully and I'm on my work network. How do you check IP addresses on this thing?

I'm basically trying the same thing for my work. I have everything set up like on my laptop, but when I hit connect it doesn't do anything. I use a Cisco VPN on my laptop with a RSA SecureID module. My laptop doesn't use a certificate to authenticate, but a group connection. This isn't a choice that I can see for this VPN client. Bluefiresecurity is supposed to be releasing a cisco version late Nov to early Dec. I guess I'll wait and try it.

For IPSec connections that require groups or pure IPSec you will need to use a third party vpn client. For SBS you can use PPTP or L2TP depending on how you have vpn configured on SBS. A great free network utility program can be found at www.cam.com it's called vxutil and it gives you ping, trace and all sorts of info.
