ActiveSync hangs on Outlook2003

So I picked up my 6700, and after going through all the neccessary hacks posted on here, i am VERY pleased with this phone especially coming from a Treo600. Only problem I am having now is on my corporate laptop when trying to sync to my work calender, contacts, etc, ActiveSync hangs on 'Connecting' forever. I can definitely tell there is network activity, but nothing happens. Is there a known issue with VPN connections (or wifi VPN connections for that matter).

Only other option I got at this point is to try to re-install outlook and try the activesync installation again when I am in the office.

What version of AS are you using? 3.8/4.0 or 4.1?

Try resyncing while you are logged into your work network. I had the same problem while trying to sync at home. Once I did it at work, I have not had a problem since. Good luck!

Last time I got the "Connecting" forever, I have to hard reset the phone. Please leave that as a last resort for yourself. I did try to remove and re-install AS to no avail. I did not re-install OL 2k3 since I did not believe it was related. If you want to hard reset the phone, make sure you delete the existing partnership in the AS4 first.

me too

After 8 hours of cursing, and reloading, and reloading.. I finally found this site...

Someone stole my ppc 6600, so I now have a ppc 6700. I can dial up network bluetooth to it no problemo. I cannot sync usb to it, I could only get infra-red to work. I put active sync 4.0 and now using 4.1 and same problems. I have a question.

HOW do you active sync via BLUETOOTH? I would greatly appreciate anyone telling me this feat.

I am using outlook 2003, and bluesolil for my usb bluetooth dongle in my laptop. If someone can tell me how to sucessfully bluetooth sync, I might even paypal them

I'm at work now, and the relationship has successfully been made as well as the connection, but now it hangs on the 'Syncronizing' screen. I've given it 15 minutes and still no luck.

It appears to be a USB issue, I can successfully sync via IRd. Hopefully I can figure out the Bluetooth sync as this is painfully slow.

Did you reboot your computer after the sync hangs up or uncradle/unplug the from the usb connection? I sometimes get that problem and it get solved after doing that.

Also, I'm not sure if using USB 2.0 or 1.1 makes a difference. I try to make sure that I use either USB 2.0 connection on the computer or use a powered USB 2.0 hub connected to a USB 2.0 connection on the computer.

I know that it gets frustrating. Hope it helps.

I'm using the cradle (powered) in the usb 2.0 port, no hub. Still says "connecting" forever,... Thanx for the reply. I really wish I could get bluetooth to activesync. I have bluesolil software, and it see's the phone for dial up networking via bluetooth, works fine for me. But cannot get it to activesync via bluetooth. Thanx. I can push files to the phone via bluetooth, or browse the phone via bluetooth, just not activesync via bluetooth...

my bluetooth dongle is usb
