I am new to this forum, I am a treo 650 (soon to be) convert.

I posted at TreoCentral, but no one seemed to have any answers, so I am trying here.

Does the 6700 have, out of the box or via 3rd party software, the ability to have direct shortcuts to web sites and phone numbers ala the 650? I know you can access contacts in the phone and bookmarks in IE, but it would be nice to have frequently called #'s or frequently visited sites directly on the start menu or on the today screen.

I have been sifted through all the posts and haven't seen anything specifically talking about this.

Any ideas?

Any information anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Frequently called numbers would just be easier to use the speed dial function.
Assign to a number, and just press and hold.

IE dunno, but i think having all that would excessively clutter the today screen, doubt this would be a feature that many ppl would desire (developed for..)

I'm using SmallMenu, cheap and fast. It will allow you to put your Favorites on its Start Menu with cascading type menus, similar to real Windows.

I have read other posts about small menu and already have that on the list of things to get.

So, just to clarify you can put IE favorites on the Small Menu? Can you create shortcuts to specific contacts? So that I could just click on the small menu and dial a number?

I use Voice Command so I haven't tried that but I don't think it will do that as it comes. This probably fits into the category of changing devices and trying to mimic what your old device did. Often it's best to get a little used to the new device and see how it does things and also how other people get similar functionality. Personally I don't think putting your contacts in the Start menu would be an efficient way to go about it. Regular speed dial or Voice Command would be the way to go, IMO.
