Minimo v0.01 released.

They just released a new version of Minimo. One person with a Dell WM5 said he installed the cab and it works great. I was curious if any PPC-6700'ers had tried it. I currently have 0.009 on mine and it's functioning just barely, so I'm hesistant to disrupt it unless I know v0.01 works.

Minimo Downloads

Trying it now. Appears to still not dialup properly so you must already be connected. So far everything else runs the same. Dunno if I'll experience the lockups I did the last time I had it installed.

I couldn't get any pages to load and it slowed down my system. I uninstalled it.

It's VERY slow and VERY memory intensive. But if you give it long enough, it works. It's the ONLY browser that appear to implement javascript completely and will work with anything.

Is there a way to decrease the amount of memory that just the start up processes take up? Can you stop/delete any of these, and how much free memory is optimal after the device starts up?

Damn, so no improvement really?

I was hoping, after hearing the report of it running ok on a Dell with WM5, that we would have more luck.

Guess I'll just stick with v0.009.

The last verions I've seen is 0.012 as of 12/20/05. Is there a newer one?

Is this better than PIE? I use a lot of sites that use SSL/ passwords and need to access them. Can't do it with PIE.

Same experience here.

I'm still waiting for the production release of NetFront 3.3 that with have their Java runtime and Flash support built-in.
