Faster find on a ppc (6700)

I come from the palm world and am playing with a 6700. Is there any way to speed up the find app? I can't believe how incredibly slow searching for info on a ppc is compared to palm.

LOL, you WILL find SO MANY slower things about the 6700 (at least vs. the Treo 650). Search (like you mention), loading Notes, Contacts, Calendar and Tasks. Also check out Activesync, that is another story (esp if you have over 2000 contacts like me) in itself. Any, see how the filters SUCK in Task. Also if you converted data over from Palm using PocketCopy, you WILL find some data issues.

Welcome !!!

There's normally a lot more to sit through with a PPC as the Palm is leaner in this respect. If you know what you are looking for you can narrow it down a bunch by using the drop down menu to hone in on what you are looking for such as Large Files, Notes, Contacts, etc.

BTW, how is "Advanced" supposed to work? It only becomes an option with certain choices but then it does nothing.

I don't think it has anything to do with being leaner. I think the palm creates an index for all data and that is why when you do a search it is almost lightning fast even on a 600 which actually has more data on it then a ppc that has a processor that is 10x faster.
